Lulu + Gas
The two Lulu's hand off to one another.
The price of gas in Kissimmee.....already it has gone up...rats. Lots of celebration going on here at a Tropical Palms since our arrival back on land. Cory and Sam made their annual bet on the Super Bowl. Sam has lost the bet these past two years so they have had to treat us to some very fine meals. Whoa...what an ending to the game....what's happening?? - the tide has turned and Sam won the bet this time. Hooray for Sam and Boo-Hoo to us. We had become accustomed being the winners. A shock to our systems. Lucky Bucky has lost his mojo. We are now to treat Sam & Sandy to an evening at the Cheesecake Factory. Sam has already forewarned us he is ending his meal with five hot fudge sundaes. I am applying for a job at the first aid center at Disney World and Cory is trying to get a job as a greeter at Wal-Mart! We are already planning the bet for next year and looking for four leaf clovers and rubbing Budda's belly for good luck.
We are slowly getting back into our normal routine. We bought gas at Sam's.....note the price, please! But they say it will be going back up soon. All good things
Super Bowl Day
Cory reads the terms of the bet.....
Mike joins us... Sandy prepares her vodka concoction. must come to an end...rats! Get it while it's good! Already it is $2.09 on the strip! Rats! That was fast! Yesterday, this funny foursome loaded up and went to Costco's. Cory had an appointment there for a hearing aid check with Frank, the hearing aid technician who sold the aids to him. Everything was good plus he updated the software in them....all while they were in Cory's ears. Cory thought his brain was being programmed into a robot. What is your wish, Master? Before coming to Florida, Cory and I watched @ 95 home movies (8 mm & super 8) on an old projector that he had to hand thread each roll into the machine. It took us weeks. We were trying to put them in sequence.....it was not easy and we have messed up with some but close enough. Most of our movies seem to be of annual trips to Florida, swimming in our above ground pool at home, birthday parties and Christmas...year after year after year. We decided it was time to get these transferred onto DVD's before they got too old. We are able to have this done at Costco's so that was part of our
Lulu!s new hats
Which style and which way do you like? trip here. Takes 3-4 weeks. We have made copies for our family to enjoy and keep. It will bring back many wonderful memories, for sure. If you want, you are all invited to come over and watch them with us ANYTIME! I'll provide the popcorn...just bring your own pillow and blanket. It will take days to watch all of them. The rest of our day was spent as a determined mission. We were on a search for a particular 3-wheeled walker for Sam. We went to at least 4 Wally-Mart's and 4 Walgreens. Like a true marathon of shopping at only "W" stores. None to be found but it can be ordered and delivered to the store. We even stopped at a Thrift Store...no luck but Lulu found a couple fancy hats she liked. When she gets bored with them, I'll try to sell them on EBay. Watch for them. The other night, the challenging dilemma arouse: where to eat this time? Because there are SO MANY choices, it becomes a difficult decision. At home, our choices are minimal so it's pretty easy. We ran down a list and finally selected The Catlfish Place in St.Cloud. Great choice...the food is
The Catfish Place....shrimp dinner
The Good Year blimp flies overhead. excellent here. The three of us ordered their shrimp while Sam ordered flounder. All of it was perfect and consumed quickly. They, of course, specialize in catfish but are also big with alligator and turtles. Sometime I might just try them...maybe. Can I bring some back for you? The other day, we had a horrendous event happen to us that we have never encountered before. When we were at our favorite Wal-Mart and checking out, Cory's credit card was rejected. He calls it his magic card because it comes through our financial man who keeps it filled all the time with $$$ which means we are never billed...it just comes out of one of our money pots. Anyway, we thought maybe the company had not filled our pot. Cory called the credit card company who stated our card number must have been stolen! They had tried to reach us but we were on the cruise. It looks like the thief used it from Jan. 21-26. They used it over and over again at Wal-Marts, 7-11's, Gas Stations, McDonalds and Popeyes (in Orlando, not Kissimmee).....all to the tune of over $3,000! Good Grief......what a terrible situation. Rats! Obviously, we are not
Lobster at the Ale House
Mine with green bean sticks....
Sandy's and Baked Potato charged for this fraud usage but it sure is scary. They cancelled our card and are sending us a new one. The only place where we remember they took our card out of our sight was at Logan's restaurant. The date coincides also. From now on, we shall pay in cash whenever the transaction cannot be done in front of us. What a lesson learned. We hope the fraud company can catch the person. Our magic card performed a bad trick! Live and learn! Several people have said the same has happened to them....it is not a new activity in this area. Not all hot sunshine and fun down here. ?Today is Wednesday and you all know what that means......lobster dinner at the Ale House. My juices are flowing just thinking about it. They have raised their price to $16.98 this year but where can you get a 1 1/4lb. Maine Lobster, baked potato and coleslaw for that price? I'm sitting in the car cause I am so anxious to go.....in 1 1/2 hours. It's several hours later now.... we have gone for dinner and returned.....yum, yum, yum. Lobster was as delish as always. I ordered mine with green beans...they
Cheeseburger Flatbread
The Gang: Craig, Sandy, Sam & Sandy were VERY crunchy.....kind of like green sticks. Sandy got hers with the baked potato. Cory got their cheeseburger flatbread. Our friends, Craig and Sandy, joined us tonight. Have you noticed how many of us have the name "Sandy" from the park? They should change the name to Sandy Palms! If anyone doesn't know someone's name, they just call out Sandy....someone is bound to answer. Craig and Sandy just arrived at Tropical Palms a few days ago from Indiana. They live in the huge house that the creator of the Hoosier cabinets lived in. It was a fun and festive evening....Hail, Hail, the Gangs All Here. Glad you could join us also. Plan on next Wednesday for more lobster. We'll drive.
