Aloha! Ho'olu komo la kaua (Please join us) - A Hawaiian theme provided a fun time at a Luau Party provided by our Tropical Palms Park. It was also a Farewell Party for the long-termers who spend their winter months in this tropical paradise. Soon, many of the park residents will begin their journeys back home to the North. There will be more and more vacant lots dotting our park. But, on this day, the throngs gathered to enjoy delicious food, great entertainment and good friends. Fancy Hawaiian shirts were sported by many. The entertainment was a Hawaiian musical group that featured lovely lady Hula dancers plus one Hawaiian fellow.....all with flexible, gyrating hips. Gotta Go to Gary's. We tried to go to this seafood restaurant last year but seemed to just go in circles when searching for it on one of our fun filled journeys. Once we did find it, it was closed. Win some; lose some. So this year, the faithful foursome put it on the "to do" dance card. We had a better idea now where to go as the crows flies so loaded into the Ford Flex and headed off towards Lake Alfred. There it was....right where we left it last year. This time, it was open....yippee. Somewhat in a desolate location: a motel next door and a couple lonely looking houses across the street. Not much to do here......except go to Gary's and/or the motel and an upcoming Beast & Feast Auction (see poster photo). ... read more

If you don't use it, you lose it! That's what has happened with me and our blog. I just got out of my regular routine of sharing our manusha with you on this babbling blog (you can wipe your tears away now). It's like we were kidnapped, wiped off the face of the earth, sucked down a sinkhole or at least had all my fingers broken. But I can't use any of those as an excuse. Fortunately, our faithful friend, Colleen, sparked a fire under me again so grab your drink, sit back and put your feet up....all this catching up may take awhile. YAWN. Truly, one-of-a- kind....one-in-a-million! Even though the weather has been a bit chilly for Florida, Sam has courageously opened his Canon Making Factory.....located on his picnic table. Here, he diligently labored and crafted another unique and special canon for me. It's fantastic! Parts of this canon ties our friendship together. The barrel of the canon came from "My Store" (that I never open) in Shongo. When Sam & Sandy visited us last year, Sam discovered an old metal pipe I had for sale in my store.
