Emergency to Coffee Hour
Friends drinking a cup of Joe Woweeeee. Can you ever have enough shopping days? I think you can and I think we have. Our day, yesterday, started out with a huge fire truck and ambulance pulling into Tropical Palms a row ahead us. That wakes you up! One of the campers obviously had a medical problem as they took him away in the ambulance. Hope he is okay.
More return items to go back to the store was next on our agenda. We returned a WiFi Range Extender to Best Buy. We had hoped it would improve the wifi available here at Tropical Palms but it didn't. We are trying not to use up all our data with our own hotspot. I write this blog in "notes" and then do a cut and paste....that is a big savings. But Cory and I are addicted to playing Big Fish Casino.....we are sitting on our hands so we don't play as much and it is a challenge to do it with your chin or toes but we are still chomping into the old gigabytes. We increased them when we left home to 15 gigabytes. Sometimes we get forgetful and carried away with the thrill of the game. Big
Win, Big Win!
I drink a special low calorie (70) chocolate milk in the morning with my pills....just trying to stay alive, you know. It is yummy (Hood Calorie Countdown). It is very difficult to find in the stores. Wegman's sells it back home (35 miles to get it though). Cory says I'm worth it....he's sweet. Anyway, we drove to a Winn Dixie down here (long drive) positive we got it there last year. It's good we didn't wager a lot on that bet. No chocolate milk! Rats! But we made friends with Ken, the chicken man butcher. Lulu had waited in the car so she missed out posing with Mr. Chicken Man. Let it go, Lulu. Your chance will come again.
We ate at Five Guys (Cory's favorite). Our families gave us mega gift cards this year for Christmas so we are in our glory rolling from place to place and just handing over the gift card with no sixpence to dole out. From here, we stopped at a CVS for some great sale items. Our medical insurance is changing their mail order pharmacy to CVS/ Caremark and are sending us their card to shop our brains

All drinking "Joe" out in their store. Yippee. Onward to a K- Mart and guess what I found? Another jacket! Now I have as many jackets as I do Ipad chargers. And we have had to use jackets as of recent. I am all set for anything that comes now. I still want to do Ebay while we are here in Florida so we have to always be on the search for treasures. Thus, we flew in to a Salvation Army. I found a couple items I will put on and hope for the best. ?Going to the Army, Going to the Army?.....one of the tunes we sing when we spy an "Army". We culminated the day at the Wally- Mart (I've gotten to be best friends with the store, thus...first name basis). My favorite stomping ground of all. Needed a small rug and found one. Rats....got it back to the RV and it was way too small - looked like a postage stamp on the floor.......another return. Through all of this running around, it rained. When it rains in Florida, it really rains...torrential......a true cloud burst. You can hardly see in front of you. Like a blizzard of rain. ?Rain, Rain, Go
The Mellow Mushroon & Chicken Man
Ken from Winn Dixie and Stacey from the Mushroom....Lulu is happy Away...Little Lulu wants to play?. The day ended listening to ?"Raindrops crashing on our heads?".......remember we are living a metal box.
Our pace didn't slow a bit today. We started out at morning coffee with many Tropical Palms residents. It's a grand time to get together and visit. In the night, I kept thinking of little tips and tidbits I would like to share with everyone. After the activity director spoke, I asked if I could share "Sandy's Snipets" with the group. Of course, I can't cover everything in a couple brief sentences so I droned on and on. Everyone was polite and I wasn't hooked off the platform.
Continuing on with the shopping mode, Sandy and I were still returning items. First, Wal-Mart, then Best Buy, then Penneys, then Costco's. Our luncheon nourishment was found at the Mellow Mushroom (mostly pizza). Our granddaughter, Rachael, works at one on her college breaks: a N.C. Mellow Mushroom. Of course, I felt the need to get one of their T-shirts. Lulu had to try it on. She insists she has to copycat everyone.
A spin down International Drive took us past the new "Eye of Orlando". It is a

Sam carefully assists Lulu with her drink....a guitar ceiling light monster size Ferris Wheel. It isn't complete yet but should be fairly soon. I think you will be able to see the earth's edge from it. Columbus would have loved it. It is beyond huge. There will be gondolas on it that the riders will stand up in for the ride of your life. I can hardly wait. Think of the photos I can get from this Big Guy!
After brief rest back at the ranch (Colleen's line), we reunited to dine together under our glowing party tent. Sandy brought over her special Cherry Pie concoction. It is an alcoholic drink that tastes like Cherry Pie. It sneaks up on you fast and knocks you on your tush. Whoa, pony girl! I forget if we even ate supper. Former Tropical Palms friends, Paul & Gloria, came by for a visit. So great to see them. We all miss them. They look wonderful. They bought a home over on Rt.27.....not that far away but not next door like they used to be. It was terrific to reminisce over good times shared. Come back soon, Paul & Gloria. The light is always left on for you.
The evening ended on
The Eye of Orlando
Lovely Lulu.....a rose amongst the posies a high note when George stopped by. He is such a nice man. I made him sit through my Ipad photos of old barns and tractors. He was pleasant during it. I told you he was nice. He and Sam recognized all the old, broken down tractors.
Okay.....time for some shuteye. We are going to the BIG RV show in Tampa, Florida tomorrow . It is huge and has every kind of recreational vehicle you can think of...plus all the accessories, etc. Some of the very high end coaches ($million+ dollar ones) you have to make a special appointment to tour inside. Others, they have a small ramp you can stand on to look through the front window. No skipping or breathing through these! I'll catch you up on the show once we go through it. Stay tuned, friends. Nite!
