They're coming, they're coming! Not the British as Paul Revere yelled but more of our family who are arriving today (Wednesday). Cory and I drove to the Orlando Airport to pick up our youngest son, Tim, and our youngest grandchild, Conner. We passed the time at the airport watching the huge lines of travelers go through the inspection lines.....worse than Disney lines. Sad faces either from the long wait or the fact that they were leaving sunny Florida. Tim & Conner arrived @ 4:30 PM. Absolutely terrific to see them again. They were as excited to be here as we were to have them. Cory got us through the tangled web of traffic leaving this huge, busy airport. They hadn't eaten so that was top on the priority list. We stopped at an Applebee's on Rt.192. ... read more

A day of eager anticipation and excitement. The first group of our family arrives later tonight (Monday). We are counting the hours. It's been many months since we have been with our family. So today is the day of reunion. Our oldest daughter, Lory, her husband, Jay, and their daughter, Sara (Knapp) will fly into the Sanford airport @ 7:30 PM. We'll wait for their text notification when they get close to us. Until then, we need to find something to do to help pass the time. It was easy to come up with a good plan. Still on our bucket list was to go to the Catfish Place in St.Cloud. Time to buckle up everyone. Sam & Sandy take their assigned seats and the rest of you can pick your own seat (take that as ... read more

Sunday afternoon and the bug had us. Not the rotten no-see-um bugs or the nasty black love bugs.....we were ready to roam again and had the cruising bug. Are all of you with us? Where to go; what to do? Of course, we are contemplating this at 2:30 in the afternoon. Too late to do much or go far. Ponder, ponder, ponder. It's Palm Sunday so many places are closed. We are concentrating on eateries at this time of day.....surprised? I bet not. We mark off those we have already been to this year. What is still on our bucket list? "I know, I know" bellows Lulu. "GARY'S!" Yeah....she's right. We have been to Gary's Oyster Bar & Restaurant in the past years but not this year. It is located in Lake Alfred. This is the ... read more

Happy St. Patrick's Day! May the Luck of the Irish Be With You! Are you keeping up with us? I certainly hope so. I can hear some of you moaning and groaning at times. Is it your knee ( like me? ) or just how you cope while navigating through my unending blogs? No matter....we have checked your tickets and you are all still with us. No refunds! So let's get going. Our small gang (Sam, Sandy, Cory, me & Miss Lulu) headed off to a nice Italian restaurant (LaBella Napoli) in St. Cloud. We had been here last year....delicious....homemade pasta. Oh, yummy, yum yum. The internet said it was open on Sunday. WRONG! Curtains closed, lights off. "Closed on Sunday" we read on their door with our faces pressed tightly up against the car windows. ... read more

Get your dancing shoes oiled up and ready to do some high stepping jigs. Today, many, many, many folks from our park gathered together for a very successful block party. The Tropical Palms staff organized it. Excellent job, staff! Chairs were set up and lined two streets in the Sandcastle section. A huge bandstand held two, magnificent bands. First up was the Greg Warren band followed by the famous The Dukes (they play routinely at Old Town). Both were terrific....very loud.....Lulu held her ears....but still toe-tapping great. The party offered refreshments at a minimal charge. It began at 1:00 PM and ended at 7:00 PM. Hours of those good old "oldies" played that had many singing and dancing. We sat in front of George and Carole's RV. When the first band ended, we used the intermission ... read more

Not planning on returning to this monster flea market this year.....UNTIL we thought of a couple things we wanted to buy there. Can't find them anywhere else at such reasonable prices. So off we went, with Lulu in tow, to the Webster Flea Market. Always busy and crowded at this Junkers Heaven. We only walked a few aisles on the West Side....the Best Side. This is where all the antique and collectible vendors set up. Not as many dealers this time as the season is starting to wind down. We hopped over the road to the retail side where the new, China made items are for sale. We found what we had been searching for. One item that I bought is my newly invented, fashion statement: instead of using these inexpensive, stretchy, beaded bracelets on your ... read more

"Let It Ride", "Twenty-One", "Know When to Hold 'Em", "One Arm Bandit", "WINNING!", "Yowhee", "Yippee", "Rats!"- all comments we hollered and heard last evening. We were thoroughly and enjoyably entertained last night by our Tropical Palms Resort staff. They brought in lots of authentic gaming equipment and dealers to provide us with an evening of good food, great gambling and exciting door prizes.....all in an festive, fun-filled atmosphere. I hope you had your gambling glove and lucky charm with you so you could be one of the winners. I had my lucky charm with me = Cory. Of course, as par, I lost all my "free" money on the slots and he won his mega load of chips on the crap table. Whew! Those hard sixes do it all the time! Then, those winnings turned into ... read more

Added to our bucket list this year was to go to Crabby's Bills Restaurant. Time to load up because the motor is running. Our fearless foursome (I think you know who belongs in this group) aimed the vehicle in the direction of St.Cloud. We usually go to the Catfish Place when in St.Cloud. We had heard about Crabby's from other folks in our park who have been there. It sounded good. We like good. Once we found a huge lake, we were there. There is a West side and East side to this lake. I can't remember the name of the lake....long and a tongue twister. It is located on Lakeshore Blvd. Cory wasted no time ordering his meal: GROUPER...his favorite. The food served was very good. I made the mistake of ordering something like a ... read more

Hang on.....its been challenging for me to keep up with all my blogs. Too many adventures! I need to clump some of these together. I know you don't mind. You have been flexible and understanding since the beginning. We were invited to Connie and Fran (Fram, as some people like to call him) Curran's for a delicious homemade meal. Lulu figured she was on the invite list so sauntered (best she could) down the road with us. Connie likes to cook and you can really tell it! Everything she serves is delicious and perfect. She could have her own food truck or restaurant and the crowds would come! She is like our own Rachael Ray of the park. Sam & Sandy were invited, also. What a grand evening sharing her fabulous food with great friends. Fran ... read more

Weather in Florida this winter seems cooler than years past. Is El NiƱo the culprit? I don't know. What I do know is that I have worn mostly long pants since arriving here on January 4th. Cory doesn't mind it....he wears shorts no matter what...well, unless his legs turn blue. And, of course, Lulu has no problem with cold extremities. She has hats to wear when her big head gets chilly. Then there are the rainy, windy days. Remember how I mentioned, you don't want to be out on the highway when that happens. Blinding! Can't see a thing ahead of you or around you for that matter. It bad, very bad. So now to our present status. We are sad....sniff, sniff. The other day when they had multiple tornadoes throughout Florida, we experienced the bad ... read more
