This is our celebration! Fifty one years together.. Yoweeee. What a grand ride it has been. Who would have thought that way back when.......two foolish college kids would end up having a magnificient family of four wonderful children and 9 wonderful grandchildren. Our lives together have been very full & successful - because of the undying support provided to each other. Yes, there's always some ups and downs but that is just part of life. Fortunately, we have always had one another to move each other along through the occasional hurdle. Cory always says " Focus On What You Can Control" rather than act like a blithering zombie that perhaps I could become on a rare occasion. He is a skilled mediator......part of his job he held as the Vice President of Human Resources. As we ... read more

Dull times don't seem to be a part of our agenda. No grass growing under our feet….but not much grass to grow down here anyway. Upon our arrival here at Tropical Palms, some 3 ½ months ago, Cory set up a nice canopy tent. He put fancy lights throughout it so it resembled a brilliant Christmas fantasyland. We haven't used it that much because of the earlier, cool months. Actually we have clear side curtains on it so could have used it as a protective igloo but we didn't. It's purpose ended up being as a storage tent for our many chairs and tables, golf clubs, etc. Recently, I rearranged it so we could use it as a protective sun shade and/or big umbrella for the heavy rains. It still was a bit cluttered but able ... read more

Time to show Dave and Linda how much we enjoy and appreciate them. Remember Dave is the fine and talented man who came to our rescue with our hot water problem in the RV. That’s a really big deal because only until you’ve lingered endlessly in an RV repair shop and paid mega bucks for labor and parts…..you would not understand what his expert service truly meant to us. And remember “Behind every good man is a good woman”. That’s Linda. She is such a sweet & gentle soul who lights up any room (or RV site) when she enters. Her smile is contagious. She is a special lady. Besides us, Dave has successfully helped many other RVer’s in this park with many, various difficulties with their RV’s. Linda says he likes the challenge. A Joyous and Happy Easter to all of you! Hope you like our chapeaus.....Lulu wore her old one....miffed. No bunny visit for her! Our days have been filled with with so much activity, it will become such a let down tomorrow when our last family heads home to New York. We will be like lost sheep. But with eye catching caps. Making the most of our time together, we piled into our car and sped over to Gatorland yesterday. I think this place is great IF you like ‘gators. There are thousands of them to see. There are several exciting shows with these scaled lizards which everyone enjoys. The other creatures on display are fascinating. Panthers are a new addition since we had been here last. If you have never visited this park, we highly recommend ... read more

Today we had to bid safe travels and goodbye to some of our family. All good things must come to end but….I don't like it. Al & Brittany had to get up very early to get their flight home out of the Sanford Airport. A few hours out and they were back on New York soil. It still amazes me what air transportation does: from one far part of the country to another in just a matter of a few hours. Unreal. The rest of our family gathered together for one final family meal at the Town Tavern in Celebration. Always good food here but everything is better when we are all together. The time was too brief. This was the departure location for Kim, Jim and Haley. From here, they headed to the Orlando Airport ... read more

Not doing birthdays anymore .... We've had enough. So just forget Cory's Birthday........that is just how it is to be! No more singing, no more candles, no more cake....nothing! APRIL FOOL..... Did I get you? Probably not but I tried. Happy, Happy Birthday, Cory: your Special Day is here (or was): March 30th. Geez....now this is bad. I didn't even get Cory's special day....his birthday, published on the correct day. So, as I try to catch up, if all of you can pick up your pace and just keep up with me....that will be good. Needless to say, our routine has become busier now that our families have joined us. Not a lot of free time to just sit down and compose my blogs. It makes me nauseous if I try to do it in the ... read more

Tropical Palms provided a wonderful Appreciation PROM Party for their long term residents (us....snowbirds and cottage owners). It was terrific. The theme was Prom Night. Most of us were limited as to what gown and stilettos to wear so we just dressed with what we had available. The food was delicious. The entertainer was fantastic: Jimmy Rogers. He has been here at TP before and always gives a great performance. He sings the '50s & '60s tunes as well as imitating some of the famous singers of that era. He is so good! The toes were tapping tonight. Lulu was miffed cause she couldn't attend.....she had no outfit to wear. Her darling dress was way too long. She'll get over it.....her day will come. Right now, she's moping. Tisk, Tisk, Tisk. This party, final one for ... read more

Yippee - the long awaited winter months have past and some of our family have been able to shovel themselves free, jump on a plane and land here today in sunny Orlando. What a joy to see them all. This family group consists of our oldest daughter, Lory, her husband, Jay, their daughter, Sara and son, Alan. Al's close girlfriend, Brittany, who is like family, is here .... as well as Ashlynn, Sara's good friend. Ryan, their other son, is back at home as he has to go back to college shortly. Hail, Hail, Most of the Gang is All Here! Lory, Jay, Sara & Ashlynn are staying at Mystic Dunes - a large condo complex off 192, not far from us. They will stay there until Friday when they can get into our timeshare, Cypress ... read more

Rain, Rain Go Away.....We Want to Party Everyday. That was our song a couple weeks ago. When it rains in Florida...it really rains! Cats & Dogs, Torrents, Major Downpours, Pelters, Soakers....call it what you may. It turns us into hermits.... You don't want to be driving in these big-time cloud bursts. Just like driving in a blizzard but rather snow is all pure water. Note my two photos of the raindrops from inside our RV. Help....we are drowning. Blub, Blub, Blub. By the next day, all is forgotten. The sun came out and the temperature climbed. Yippee! I think Mother Nature is bi-polar. The weather can change so dramatically here. Somedays I am bundled up like we are heading home to the frigid North....other days I am peeling down like the "old hot flash" days. What ... read more

Best part of writing my blog is to be able to reach out to all our family and friends. Today is Cory's sister, Cris Guenter's birthday. A very Happy, Happy Birthday to you, Cris. We are thinking of you! This is my attempt at my blog while feeling kind of dumpy. Actually, I am better today than recent ones so that is why I am making this weak attempt. Bear with me, folks. Limited activity on our part so only a couple days of taking you on our tour around town. Cory and I went to a mall that had been almost closed last year. It is located next to a Bass Pro store. Some investor has taken this depleted, adjoining mall and turned it into a monster-sized artisan gallery. It is called Artegon. It has ... read more
