Adam asked for a list. He received it. Francine gave Adam, Angie's son a list of things to see while in LA. He has dilligently tried to make sure she saw and did everything, then some. Not just one view of the Hollywood sign but several from around the city. Adam points out every little tidbit he's learned in his 21year residency here in LA. The list included: Hollywood, Mann's Chinese Theater, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hollywood ign, Hollywood Bowl, Dodgers baseball Game, shopping at It's a Wrap, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Griffith Park, In and Out Burger, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Porto's Bakery... Then some of lesser known but still iconic LA experiences like traffic jams on the 5, massive crowds on the beaches and piers, Del Taco, Pinkberry Yogurt Bar, Bob's Big Boy Burgers ... read more

Geo: 34.0533, -118.245The end of vacation. Never an overly thrilling time, but also not a loathed time knowing I will be back home with those friends and ones we have missed. Never the less, the weeks without the daily life responsibilities has been a break and I have surely enjoyed my one on one time with Alex. Today we sit in the airport at I write this entry and reflect on the events of yesterday.Usually the day before departure is limited in the activities and more focusedon relaxing one more day and getting things in order. Yesterday was different.Following the drama of the green guy on the floor, we packed up the car andheaded towards LA to play tourist and see more of the landmarks. Off we went, first to Beverly Hills and Rodeo drive. We drove ... read more

Geo: 34.0113, -118.492Another day in sunny California and we have decided to spend the day cruising the beaches near LA. We headed to El Matador State Park to use as a starting point and work our way south. Unfortunately, the Park was closed until, tomorrow for work they are doing. So on to the 2nd stop, Point Dunes State Park where I explored the cliff side beaches on small trails heading from the road to the sand below. Not wanting to take up too much time I returned to the car, and we headed to Malibu in hopes of spotting a star or two shopping in the very high end boutiques. We searched and searched but saw no one we recognized. Not really, we walked around a little then headed on down the coast. The main ... read more

Geo: 34.0522, -118.244Heading out once again, for a long travel day, we packed up the camp, and took to the road. Today, we head for Los Angeles as we start to sadly wind down the trip. Driving was, for the most part, uneventful, until the fateful moment, while looking for a place to shower, I pulled off on the side of the road for a look at the directions. Knocking the top off the water jug I instructed Alex to jump out and go to the back seat to locate it. The second he exited the car I heard a moan and yell and looked back to see him standing on the side of the road not moving. It soon became apparent he had stepped bare foot right into a patch of sand spurs. Once back ... read more

Greetings from Los Angeles! I'm home, I'm safe and I have a few things to say in order to wrap this adventure up. 3 weeks ago, I kissed my wife goodbye, fired up the Mothership's big six cylinder engine and pointed her front wheel east. I had a rough idea of the high points that I'd hit along the way, the overall destinations and the friends I'd visit but it became so much more than that. The road is like that. It surprises you and changes your priorities. It reminds you that there is so much more than what you see every day. It lets/makes you be yourself. The road never lies, nor does it accept lies. It will make you honest. Honest with yourself, your machine and honest with the world around you. My Mother-in-law ... read more
Storms can be conquered.

The Mothership is loaded and ready for departure tomorrow morning at 4:00 AM. More tomorrow from the road. Until then, here are a couple of pics taken a few minutes ago. Looking good with her acres of chrome polished. My buddy Jack is standing guard. Even Aliens have fami... read more

Trip Plans The basic trip details are as follows; I will be riding my motorcycle from Los Angeles, CA (leaving 6/7/16) to Morgantown, WV (arriving 6/13/16) for a motorcycle gathering with about 350 other motorcyclists. This gathering, called INZANE will last for about 5 days. Then I will be heading south to Baton Rouge, LA (arriving 6/17/16) for a few days to see old friends before heading home. Sounds simple, right? Well, as anyone who has ridden a motorcycle long distances knows all to well, it's not simple at all. Road conditions, weather, potential mechanical issues and a myriad of other factors make this a serious undertaking. So, why am I doing it? That's the question that I get most often from friends, family and co-workers. The short answer is "Because I need to." The longer ... read more

Today we visited California Adventureland - the next door neighbor to Disneyland, and it was fantastic! Loved it so much. We saw several street shows, was able to rub elbows with Pluto and Oswald (the original lucky rabbit drawn by Disney), visited Cars Land, ate some amazing sourdough bread bowls at the Pacific Wharf and chilled on a massive ferris wheel ride. It was fantastic! We have been super lucky in that the weather has been overcast, the lines short and the food great. I actually enjoyed it more than Disneyland, though I think you just have to go to Disney! And remember.."it all began with a mouse"...... read more
