Hey all, thanks for reading my post from Yesterday, I hope its coherence came through, as I was a little sloppy for the Strongbows and Becks. Here are some pictures for you all to see. I have many, many more pictures, and how much imagery I can get across to you I don't know, but I will try, just give me time. Thanks for the love those of you that have left me messages, I do miss all of you, although I'm equally happy to be away seeing new places and meeting new people with different philosophies and driving forces behind their lives. I hope you all can live your daily lives at home with the same sort of curiosity and intensity as I am forced/choosing to do here on my sponge-like quest to become more ... read more

So I dont' know if I should blame today's events on being wiped out from last night, or lack of speaking Polish, or the possibility that my charades skills are fading--gasp!!! not that! It's my lifeline. Anyways, so I'm heading out to Auschwitz (largest concentration camp) by train. I bought a ticket. The lady asked if i wanted return ticket and i said yes. I am on my way. SO i check the schedule and head to platform 2 where the train is. Except, there are two platform 2's. And both of them have trains on them. One of them is kinda far down so I jog to catch it. Then i realized it started moving so I stopped running. THen it stopped. Maybe it was waiting for me. SO I ran again. ANd it started ... read more

Kortom een prachtige dag!... read more

Woe is me! My iPod, my best friend during all my travels, betrayed me! Or rather, lack of sleep and an uncoordinated hand did me in. I've accidently deleted all the pictures from my birthday and then some! So in a desperate and futile attempt to relive the day before my birthday, the day of my birthday, and the morning after my birthday, I'm back at travel blogging. I had some great pictures of A Coruña. A little city near Santiago de Compostela on the northwest coast of Spain. The morning of September 23, I had taken a walk to the Torre de Hercules at 4 AM. If you have to ask what the hell I was taking a walk at 4 AM for, then I'll have to tell you. I got drunk the night before ... read more

First of all, I want to say there should be a flag of Wales for this entry, not the UK flag. It is so cool, with the bright red dragon. So you could see it, I'm trying to put a link here and by the way you can also get a recipe for Welsh Cakes at this site and boy are they good. If we had known how good, we would have bought a lot more than we did the day we left. http://www.grossi.co.uk/wales/recipe.htm Where does the time go? And don't you get tired of hearing people say that? We had the nicest (only 1-yr old) self catered cottage in Llangollen. Self catered is like home away from home, fully furnished, including linens, pots and pans, even a nice welcome basket of goodies from the owner ... read more

We weren't actually in Avignon, we were in a town 20 minutes south called Arles. My mother's other love interest, Rick Steves (this became a running joke), recommended Arles as a place to visit so that is where we went. She began referring to R.S. as "him" and would put out statements such as "he doesn't recommend going there." Finally I asked her (jokingly) if there was something she needed to tell my dad. So that is why Rick Steves is now my mom's pretend boyfriend. Arles was actually a really interesting town. I had no idea where I was going, I just got on the train with my mom but she said that there were Roman ruins in the town. We got there and walked around and came across a cafe that looked really familiar....turns ... read more

After running out of funds I decided to head back to england to reimburse the wallet. I really did not want to leave Mexico but i knew there really was no other choice. It was kind of daunting after so many months travelling to go back to the hustle and bustle of "reality" shall we put it that so many millions of people do everyday to make a living. I stayed in London for a couple months mainly looking for work in my industry of computers as I knew working behind a bar like thousands of other Aussies is just not going to make any money. But it was very difficult to find work and ended working in the London Underground for a short period as it was decent pay but the work itself left ... read more

Not much happened today. I needed some time to relax, so I stayed in my room for most of the day and worked until I was up to date with my homework. Some of our class went on a boat trip in the afternoon, to the monastery across the river. They missed the boat back and almost got stuck there for the night! I went for a milkshake in the evening with Sarah and Bhavina. The café is a type of fast food restaurant, but has a bit more style and some Russian 'chic'. I was quite grumpy and ill but it was good at least to have a quick drink. I phoned my family when I got home to Tolbukhina, for the first time in three weeks. I started to feel worse so I had ... read more

Savvy, another MBA from Haas, had a business trip in München, otherwise known as Munich. He of course planned to coincide with Munich’s most famous attraction, Oktoberfest. This legendary tradition all started many centuries ago to celebrate the marriage of Queen Therese. Today the festival still takes place at Theresieweisen, which normally is a park. Oktoberfest is actually a misnomer. Though it started back in the days in October, these days the rational Germans have moved it up to September, when it’s warm enough that no one gets a cold from wearing beer-soaked lederhosen. Personally I think they should rename it Achtung-Bier-Fest (translation: danger, Will Robinson, German beer party) to make it less confusing for the tourists. Every weekend of Oktoberfest has a different unofficial theme. The weekend Savvy picked is for whatever reason favored by ... read more
