Well we arrived... ...How to start, well how about, Naples is a dump!!...it's true...we started off with 8 people at the taxi rank all giving their own view on the way to our appartment, which was funny, especially as i left martin to it!!... we're staying at the "hotel neapolis", which is very nice, & is going to be well above the rest of our accomation. Yesterday, out first day, we heading down to the post of molo angioino along with visiting many castle's and sites along the way...we followed this up in traditional style with a few beers back along the way. OK yesterday the first half was a frustraiting and the second half was great as I took a vacation from roughing it. The first half of the day was at the airport arguing with the ticket counter and making arrangements for flying out early which is tough because Naples doesnt have a counter for Luftunsa or United which is who I am flying on. I would call the airline support number and they would tell me it should be no problem, but the Italians at the counter said they couldn't change my date and refused to call the airline to speak to them about it. Hi, Well, I must admit Italy is not quite what I had hoped for and I may leave tomorrow or Monday which is about 4 days sooner than planed. If so, my flight is to Helsinki which does not really have more than a weeks worth to do and is expensive Sooooo... the plan would be to take the one hour hydrofoil ferry over to Estonia where I can live well on 350 elt per day or whatever it is they spend over there. Its something like 30 USD. About a third the cost of Italy or Finland. Today I saw Pompeii! It takes about 4 hours and is massive. Maybe a mile or more across. Today was our second full day on the Amalfi coast. Yesterday we stayed here in Positano and went down to the beach. We rented some lounge chairs, you have to here, since the beaches are all rocks. The weather was really nice, the sun was hot but the water was nice and refreshing. We had lunch down at the beach restaurant, I think the waiter wanted to go home with us. Unfortunately, he was not the hot waiter from Monterossa, but rather a 70 year-old man, not quite the Italian guy we had in mind. There was also a rather old man in a very tiny speedo on the chair next to us, not pleasant, but very common here.
