Hallo Schnuckis of the world. We have a winner!!! And not only did he discover the city he also gave a lot of info about the pictures!!! here is the X-file frm Jean-François! Hahahaha Je me suis bien amusé à faire le google-détective. Voici quelques conclusions de mon rapport top secret: - Sony Centre - Russian embassy (Unter den Linden 55/65) - Soviet War Memorial (near Brandenberg Gate) - Checkpoint Charlie ----------------------------------- this is a mistake I hadn't been there yet... - New National Gallery (Sculpture Garden) Bon, j'arrête car j'ai déjà passé une heure à ces conneries So yes anyway I am in Berlin, I got on so well with Nadja in Mexico that I decided to meet her again here in Berlin! But now Holiday is OVER I am coming back home this WE, ... read more

I'm not good with keep up to date. it's almost been a year and I've been to seven countries and had half the entries. yikes i know. and i've recently quit using captain letters ... about 5 seconds ago. happy to say that i will be heading to Greece in 2 months! i can be random and i tend to rant. i'm a dreamer. most recently, and the ones that have stuck, i want to get into sailing. wiat, there's more. i want to own a small boat and buy a vespa. it works out perfectly... my traveling house and buggy. i will sail around the world and when i want my feet dry ... this is the genius part ... i will pull into port and motor around on the little red vespa. lets soak ... read more

These past few days have been for relaxing. Angie is running around trying to get all her paperwork done for the army, so if she has some problems with that, you won't be hearing from me for a few days. But I'll start blogging again after they get resolved. In the meantime, I'm babysitting AJ while Angie and her husband run around and take care of some of the paperwork. He's pretty cute. This leads to another first time life experience: the first time I ever changed a diaper was in Germany! I've watched babies before, but never any as young as him (he's 3 months) and never long enough to have to worry about changing them. Luckily it wasn't anything messy! He's napping right now. We didn't do much yesterday. We went into Kaiserslautern ... read more

Hello peeps. Angie and I are going to start doing stuff tomorrow; today was Sunday and everything here is dead then. But we have created a tenitive itinerary of places to go and when....we realized since we have to optimize the days the days her husband is off work (so he can watch AJ) and the other days have to include trips to close places, we need to plan where we're going and when. So, I share with you all what we are doing until I leave: Tomorrow, May 7th: Castle seeing and Heidelberg Tuesday, May 8th: The Japanese Gardens and Kaiserslatern Castle (and more of the city) Wednesday and Thursday Angie needs to take care of "getting out of the army" paperwork. Friday, May 11th: What we're calling the "Belgium Circle." We're driving and stopping ... read more

Hello!! My travels have brought me to Germany and Europe for the next few weeks. I have more access to a computer now also than ever before while traveling, so perhaps I'll be able to update this frequently! I'm staying (until May 19th) with my childhood friend, Angie, and her husband and baby AJ on the military base in Kaiserslautern. It's about 6:30pm here right now, and I got here at 7:30am. It was interesting because although French is my forte, I realized on the flight here I don't know any German besides being able to say, "shit," "no," "girl," "thank you," and that's about it. I didn't even remember (or really know in the first place) how to say "Yes" or "hello" in German, and with the insanity of school in the past few weeks, ... read more

Cycling from Holland to Germany it felt as if we were back in the rolling Kent countryside again - and yes we did feel those extra acquistions on the hills! We arrived in Aachen early and met a couple of other cycle tourists in the campground. Like many other cycle tourists we have met, they were up and out of the campsite before we had even put our heads out of the tent the next morning. There is some logic in this, it means you have covered considerable ground before the sun gets high and hot in the sky. Somehow this logic has not filtered down to us, and we still enjoy long and slow starts over large breakfast bowls and morning showers before a mid morning departure! Leaving Aachen the push was then on to ... read more

Hey everyone! Glad you stopped by to check in on our adventures thus far! We've been staying with the Bonaudi family since Thursday night. Despite a delayed wait on the tarmack in London and a scare with a passenger who fell on the floor of the airplane @ 2am, our flight over went smooth. Our trip from Frankfurt to their house was a bit challenging (to say the least)... should have taken us a little over an hour to drive to the little village of Bann; just outside of Kaiserslautern, or "K-town" as the locals call it. Unfortunately, we got our route changed at the airport by the Avis rental guy ("You want an easier route?") Well, it took us twice as long! Our new route took us thru the Rhine region outside of Manheim ... read more

FIVE YEARS AFTER - 10th April 2007. Time is an elusive thing - you can’t touch or hold it, you can’t speed it up or slow it down, it deposes kings, it moves mountains, it fades our memories, it strengthens bonds. Fives years after the England to Singapore bike trip, the five core members of the team have stayed in touch, met up for a reunion, and changed their lives completely. In this blog entry I’d like to briefly tell you what has happed to the other members of the group and to myself - this has been another amazing journey, through life. SCOTT ZENTACK. He was the first to leave for home. I knew Scott would make it from the start, he was well prepared and determined. But in Singapore, I had the feeling ... read more

We headed for Fussen early, and checked into our B and B (which is slightly better than and B and N). We wandered the relatively small town, wandered right out of the town and towards a waterfall, viewed said waterfall, then followed the flow of the river towards a big lake (which was disappointingly low in terms of water level, however the water was beautifully blue - being glacier water). Back in our room for the evening (after much too much work and walking for so few sights) we watched CNN world and MTV Europe on the ol tv, at groceries, and got to bed early. The next morning a delightful breakfast was brought directly into our room on a tray (I felt awkward, but it was cool nonetheless). The goal for the day, see Neuschwanstein ... read more
