My Friend and Escort on the Reef While Jenny built a sandcastle in the black sand of Playa Negra, this canine stood sentinel. Then Jen sent her off to check up on me, and then I had a new friend.Travelling around this wonderful country has taught us some interesting things about ourselves, chiefly among which we are mountain people as opposed to beach people. Not that we don't like the beach, because it's great, but we feel more at home in the mountains. There just seems to be more to see and do. And it's cheaper. The trip here was very neat, with waterfalls cascading down through the greenery along the roadside. Though it was tough to catch much of them as the bus careened along at a breakneck pace. We went through miles and ... read more

Hi all, Sorry I've been out of touch - 2 out of my 2 fans have chastised me for running late on my next entry so here goes! For this entry I thought I would share with you some of the flowers that are thrive on the Caribbean side - Haven't got names yet...but I will work on that! The end of March (Marzo) was busy. We had a group of 10 women rent the house for 2 weeks. This meant that Andrew and I had to vacate. Preceding their arrival, I cleaned and prepped for them. We made a list of does and don't's! Even though I've been here almost 7 months, Americans still surprise me. Since neither Andrew and I were going to be here we had a neighbor serve as liaison for ... read more

So we decided to take the trip to Lago Atitlan, we get picked up by our bus one time, amazingly enough, after picking up a busload of people in Antigua we head to the lake, little did we know our driver would try to pass every car on the road, ya no big deal right, how about when going uphill and on a curve, apparently though hes not the only one, anyways the kicker to the ride was when Milly Vanilly came on i mean yes it couldnt get better than that. We were going to go to santa cruz but then a boat full of people were going to san marcos so we joined them, for about 4$ we took a boat across the lake, all we had heard of san marcos was that ... read more

Hi Everyone!! Finally iv arrived in Guadeloupe, an amazing island in the middle of the carribean!! Please excuse the typos as im using a european keyboard which is different to those in Aus! Where do I begin, so far iv been to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York and Puerto Rico! Los Angeles wasnt exactly the glam I expected of Hollywoods "Hub" in the world! The Hostel we stayed at though pretty much made our time there... LA is pretty dirty and dingy to put it mildly...although the people where surprisingly very nice considering the number of tourists wandering around. Hollywood Boulevard where we stayed was always alive at night and looked like a hole by day but admittedly the best entertainment was by far watching the "excentric" characters that seemed to be everywhere in ... read more

Viimeinen kirjoitukseni Floresista! uuu.. Ne kukat ostettii... read more

WEll, thats it! I'm finally on board. this is the second day of my mighty adventure on the Titanic (well, its almost as big as it!) but let me tell you about the small amount of fun I had before actually sailing. Well, everything was going well, too well some might say. I'd got checked in the day before with BA and got to the airport on time. Everything hunky dory. Top Banana. The flight was going fine until we got over Ireland (Cork to be exact) and then the engine started vibrating. Now, this vibration wasn't any old make a girl go all funny when shes riding the bus vibration, but a if this isn't sorted out we're going to crash and or die sort of thingy, so we did a quick U turn, jettisoned ... read more

Zip-lining Thru The Jungle Central America Caribbean » Costa Rica » Volcan Turrialba » Turrialba » CATIE By LaurenBMay 21st 2007 They call it "Canyoning" because your zip-lining over canyons. You can also repell down waterfalls. It was great! I just did it. The waterfalls are a bit tricky cause the rocks are so slick from thousands of years of erosion, they are as slick as wet marble. Its very hard to find your footing, add in the water co... read more
