Jetsetting Backpackers Off Again!

This started out as a bucket list item that maybe I'd one day do but then I finally learned to backpack in the last year and a half and obtaining reservations at Phantom Ranch was damned near impossible. So it turned into an application for a permit at Bright Angel Campground that just happened to be accepted over Labor Day weekend. Then we added on stops at Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend... and hey, isn't that Zion National Park right on our drive to the North Rim? So we stopped there for a hike in the Narrows, too!

I think I've been traveling all my life, whether it was tagging along with my dad on business trips to Austin, Texas, numerous yearly (sometimes twice) camping trips to Yosemite, the occasional Disneyland trip, and all sorts of road trips. I loved hiking and exploring with my mom, and tried to pass that on to my younger siblings as they grew up.
