The past two days it's been clear enough to see Mussori from where I'm at. Which is actually nice since lately the clouds role in at the base of the mountains and obscure the view in the afternoon. I can't help thinking that it looks a little like the foothills back home in Southern California maybe a few decades ago, when the mountain communities were still fairly small. Wow, now I'm really dating myself. Either way it's nice to look up and see the mountains. I'm looking forward to this Sunday when we will have time to go up there and explore the town. They say on a clear day you can see China. That's pretty cool. ... read more

I guess you can say that I am moving up when it comes to my accomidations. My room is much larger and my window actually has a view of some of the shops. The coolest part is my view also includes a tree. Ok so for most of you it must sound pretty hilarious that I am excited about a tree, but when you have spent nearly 4 weeks in a hotel that's window looks into your neighbor's room you would be pretty happy too. And no my neighbor was not all that pleasing to the eyes. Mom, I would say that on the Motel 6 sliding scale it's more like a Motel 7.5. But the food is great here! I think I will need to start running again or I might have to buy a ... read more

There's alot of building that is going on around us right now, probably around 5 or 6 buildings in various stages of construction (including our building). So today at lunch I figured that you should have the opportunity to see Koenig's Dehradun location. There is actually 3 floors plus a basement where the lunch room and gym is located. It's kinda nice. There's plenty of room in the labs as well. You can go up to the 2nd floor (well they probably would prefer that you didn't go up there since it's unfinished) and on a clear day you can get some nice shots of the mountains. But the clouds role in pretty early now, so hopefully I will be lucky and get a nice picture of the mountains before it's time to go. It should ... read more

I have mixed feelings about Dehradun. It's probably because I was expecting something completely different than what is the reality. I was expecting a quaint town surrounded by mountains and trees. It is far from quiet, especially where I am staying. Maybe that's so I won't want to return to New Delhi. LOL According to one of the students here this is a good place to study because there is nothing to do. I am hoping that he is just a homebody who hasn't been out much. We shall see. The trip from Delhi began at 5:30 am at the train station, and was pretty uneventful. I actually slept or tried to sleep most of the way just to kill time. It's about 5 hours from Delhi to Dehradun via the express train. I was sitting ... read more

Today is my last day in Delhi for a while, as I said before I'm off to Derah Dun. Thankfully I brought my camera to class today (M glad you reminded me). I had made a mental 'To Do List' of things that I wanted to photograph, and it just so happened that on the way back to the hotel I was able to get 3 out of 4. That's pretty good if you ask me. The first picture I wanted was of a cow. That sounds so easy to accomplish but I would always see the cows on the way to class when I didn't bring my camera or when I did happen to snap some pics of them I'd get the tail end of one. Not really what I was looking for. Oh well, ... read more

Yesterday was no fun at all, but I woke up feeling refreshed. Nothing has changed, it's still congested and I'm here so that's it. Back to work. We were moving along in our studies today when the head of the school came to our class and told us that we had the opportunity to go and study in Dehradun. At first I was thinking is where in world is Dehradun and how much will it cost me? I found out that it's at the base of the Himalayas, so it's pretty much the opposite from New Delhi. I'm kinda liking that, and the cost difference is equivalent to filling up your car with gas. So now I'm leaving Sunday morning for a train ride north to Dehradun. Yippy! Which will be nice since studying in Goa ... read more

Ok I have hit the wall. I woke up today and I am completely sick of this place. It's time to go home but unfortunately this stinking course will not be done for another month. GRRRRRR!!!!!! What the heck was I thinking! Let's see, I'm sick n tired of... *Having to order food everyday *Better yet, having to guess what the heck I am eating! *Learning about DNS and DHCP servers *All things relating to this course, even my pen! *Little coffee cups. Dad you would hate this one too. *The constant noise, come on people the cars in front of you will move once the stinking cow finally wakes up! Honking your horn to wake up the darn cow is futile since it's deaf! Get over it. *The dirt! It's kinda defeats the purpose when ... read more
