Today is my last day in Delhi for a while, as I said before I'm off to Derah Dun. Thankfully I brought my camera to class today (M glad you reminded me). I had made a mental 'To Do List' of things that I wanted to photograph, and it just so happened that on the way back to the hotel I was able to get 3 out of 4. That's pretty good if you ask me. 😊
The first picture I wanted was of a cow. That sounds so easy to accomplish but I would always see the cows on the way to class when I didn't bring my camera or when I did happen to snap some pics of them I'd get the tail end of one. Not really what I was looking for. Oh well, I'm sure I will have many opportunities before I leave India.
The next picture that I wanted to get was one of puppies in a birdcage. Yes I said puppies in a birdcage. Here's the story: On my way back from class yesterday I noticed a young boy holding a puppy, and I thought how cute. As I continued to watch the
little boy I noticed he was with an older man and at their feet was a small to medium size wire birdcage with puppies in it. They were selling them. The image of the puppies made me wonder if caged dogs sing. Probably not but I've never seen a pup in a birdcage so I wouldn't know if they sing or not. Would you?
Needless to say, I was hoping to get a picture of the puppies today. Knowing full well that the odds were against me. But as you can see I was able to get some pictures of the puppies.
This next picture on my 'To Do List' all started because of Tom had made it his mission this past week to photograph a family on a motorcycle. Every morning and afternoon there would be 2 or 3 cameras at the ready and at least one look out in order to find the elusive 'family on a motorcycle.' It was pretty entertaining. Now it takes some planning to have 3 or 4 people on one motorcycle. This is how it goes: the father drives, the mother sits side saddle, while she holds on to their child
and sometimes you will see another child sitting in front of the father. Mind you the only person who is wearing a helmet is the father, and the children are usually 8 or younger.
Much to my delight I was able to get not only a motorcycling family but an Ox pulling a cart. Which was the last thing on my list. How cool was that!
Now that the pictures are taken, it's time to pack. I actually had to get another suit case, there goes my hope of traveling lite. LOL There's only one small problem, my laundry hasn't been returned. I sent it out yesterday, and normally the laundry is returned the same day. There is a bright side to having no clothes though, it means that I am all done packing!
