Guess what guys? It's raining! HA! We arrived here on Wednesday and it was a beautiful day. Sunny, clear, no humidity and NO BUGS! It was great and we were in heaven. The camp host said that this was pretty much the norm and that they hadn't had a whole lot of rain this summer so we thought we should be in the clear. Well, this storm came through today (Friday). Although it has been very minor it has brought the humidity but we still love it here. I think this is my favorite city so far on the trip. Duluth is a beautiful city that sits right on the shores of Lake Superior. As you know, this is the Greatest of the Great Lakes and if it's entire surface were to freeze over (which has ... read more

Greetings from wet and humid Minnesota. We arrived here in Walker, MN on Sunday after traveling through Fargo ND and the backroads of MN. The scenery was beautiful as it is very green and wooded. It is a 2 lane road that we are traveling so the pace is slow but hey, who's in a hurry right? On Monday we drove around the town of Walker which is located on Leech Lake, the 7th largest lake in MN, and is mostly a resort town that has many golf courses and great fishing. We decided to drive to Bemidji, which is about 25 miles southwest of here to see what that town had to offer. It is a moderately sized town and it is located on a lake also. I now see why MN is the land ... read more

Boy do I have a bunch to tell you this time. We are in Medora which is a very tiny town in western North Dakota. My niece Andrea had told me about it and so we decided to head there from Spearfish. Before we left Spearfish we did have a little boo-boo. Don was walking Karlie and he wanted to get a picture of her with her new "friend" the little baby lamb and between keeping her on the leash and away from the lamb and getting a picture, well you can guess what happened. Yep, the camera was dropped and needless to say a gonner. We stopped at Walmart on the way out of town for me to buy a replacement. So, the pictures you will see starting with this blog are from our new ... read more

We arrived in Spearfish S.D. on Sunday after staying Saturday in Greybull WY. We are staying at a little mom and pop place called Chris' Campground. It has been here for about 40 years or so so the trees are big and give lots of shade. The sites are all grassy and wide so we have lots of room for Karlie to play outside. We have liked it here so well that we have stayed for 3 nights so far and can't decide if we want to leave tomorrow or stay another day. The town is very centrally located to everything, i.e. Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Spearfish Canyon, Devils' Tower, etc. Pretty much all the attractions that you would want to see in this area yet you are not in the hustle and bustle of ... read more

What is the saying, "Things come in threes'". Well, I think we are going through that. When we left Malad, ID we decided to get 2 new front tires for the RV because we had been having bad riverwear and with us putting on so many miles we didn't want to get a flat tire somewhere in the middle of timbuktu and be at the mercy of someone to rip us off so we went to someone we trusted. Then the night before we were to leave Polson the microwave decided to quit working in the RV. We couldn't get it fixed there so we set up an appt. in Idaho Falls for Wed. since we were leaving on Tues. Meanwhile Landon called that day to tell us that the dryer quit working at home. (He ... read more

Well today is our 17th anniversary so we decided to take the day and travel to Glacier National Park and drive the "Road to the Sun". It is only about 50 or so miles from Polson and it is a pretty drive. We packed up Karlie and headed to Big Fork for an early lunch. You know me, I don't do mornings very well. Big Fork is a really quaint little town about 30 miles from Polson. It reminds me of a mountainous Carmel. We sat outside at a little wine and sandwich shop and had a lunch. It was really good. The Park wasn't super crowded seeing as it was a Saturday so we were able to take our time driving. The road is not one for the squeamish. I even got a little dizzy ... read more

We arrived here in Polson, Mt today and met Reta & Jim (our friends from Amarillo, TX). We are staying at Eagles Nest RV park which is on the golf course and very close to the lake. The lake is huge and kind of reminds me of Lake Shasta. The weather has been beautiful today and we are looking forward to spending some time with our good friends. They have introduced us to pickle ball which is a lot like racquet ball but with a wiffle ball. You play on an outdoor smaller scale tennis court. It gets pretty competitive. Of course I am just a spectator. There is another couple here from Princeton, California that they met in AZ this past winter, Frank & Bev and we look forward to getting to know them better ... read more

We left N Bar S Ranch this morning to make our way to Polson, Mt. We ate at a little place in Dell, MT (which has a population of 35) called the Calf A (nice play on words huh?). It is an old one room schoolhouse and everyone just shares tables if there aren't enough seats to have your own. They have really good home cooked food. Hmmm..... maybe this is a place for Diners, Drive ins, and Dives???? Anyway, we got to Dillon, MT around 3:30 so we still had plenty of daylight left and we decided to go to Bannack State Park which was just 10 minutes up the road. We are sure glad that we did. It served as the first Territorial Legislature and is the most well preserved ghost town in today's ... read more

Hello from Malad Idaho! We have been here since June 22nd. Left Home on the 21st and stopped in Merced to have breakfast with Don's brother Bill & his son Doug. Then it was on to Winnemucca and the Walmart parking lot for the night. Nothing but 1st class for us! Got into Neil & Sherry's the next day around 5pm and after dinner Don was out working in the fields. He could hardly wait! He has been raking and swathing hay since we got here. We will be leaving here on Monday to head to Polson Montana to meet up with Reta & Jim, our friends from Amarillo, and be staying there for a week. It has been fun here at Neil & Sherry's but if we don't get on the road we will never ... read more
