Karlie & Us @ Glacier 2010
This is us in front of the sign going into the Park. What a cute puppy huh? Well today is our 17th anniversary so we decided to take the day and travel to Glacier National Park and drive the "Road to the Sun". It is only about 50 or so miles from Polson and it is a pretty drive. We packed up Karlie and headed to Big Fork for an early lunch. You know me, I don't do mornings very well. Big Fork is a really quaint little town about 30 miles from Polson. It reminds me of a mountainous Carmel. We sat outside at a little wine and sandwich shop and had a lunch. It was really good. The Park wasn't super crowded seeing as it was a Saturday so we were able to take our time driving. The road is not one for the squeamish. I even got a little dizzy looking over the sides. It is a very narrow 2 lane road and you will see by the pictures that you are a long way up. Mr Hoefer, trust me, you would not like it so don't even attempt it. We saw mountain goats and sheep once we got to the top of Logan's Pass. They just run up the sides of the mountains like
Glacier Sheep
These are the sheep that were on the top of Logans Pass. They were really big and healthy. they are nothing. We got back that evening after stopping for a Mexican dinner in Big Fork. It was a very nice day and a wonderful way to spend our anniversary.
