We made it to the Yukon Territory! ? Decided to leave the beauty of Muncho Lake after Don caught his fish. The limit is two and he figured since he hadn't had any luck from the shore and only caught one from the boat that we would mosey on down the road. Ended up in Watson Lake at the Downtown RV Park with all the other Caravans. This place had 80 sites and they were all full! We were packed in like sardines. It is nothing to look at as evidenced by the picture I took the morning after everyone left. Basically just a gravel parking lot but it has wifi, 50 amp, AND cable TV! Therefore this place is a 5 star?!! We got in early because we knew the caravans were headed here and ... read more

Monday, June 26 & 27 Today was an animal day. We traveled from Fort Nelson B.C. to Muncho Lake B.C. It was a very steep and winding road but beautiful scenery that offered a lot of wildlife sightings. I first spotted a black bear who was so kind to sit and look at us as we drove by. Then we came upon a small heard of Caribou. My picture didn't come out very good due to the fact that we couldn't get very close. As we traveled farther up the road we came upon some stone sheep. We ran into a couple of herds of them. We arrived at Muncho Lake early afternoon and got set up. It is a beautiful glacier filled lake and that is crystal clear and blue as a pool. The campground is ... read more

June 19 & 20 - Snitch RV Park, Prince George, B.C. June 21 & 22 - Dawson Creek B.C. June 23 - 25 - Fort Nelson, B.C. Since I am so far behind on these blogs with the absence of WIFI I am going to condense these earlier days. As you can see we have been to three towns. Prince George, Dawson Creek, & Fort Nelson. Dawson Creek was really the beginning of the Alaska Highway even though you are in B.C., Canada. There's not much to say about Prince George. It was a fairly big city with a Costco, Walmart and a University. Things are a little different here in Canada. I took some pictures of things that have struck me as funny or odd. One thing strange and annoying was that the Costco here ... read more

I want to start out my blog today by wishing all you dads a Happy Fathers Day. My dad has been gone since 2002 but I think about him often especially on this day. We took off from Hope, B.C. in the rain and traveled about 35 minutes up the road to Hells Gate where there is a tram that takes you across the canyon. I wasn't quite sure about this since I am 1) claustrophobic, and 2) afraid of heights. We got there, I saw it and decided I could do it. They were pet friendly which meant Karlie could go! She liked the tram ride as evidenced by the picture. It really was a spectacular gorge with raging water running below. From there we stopped for the night in Clinton, B.C. at the Gold ... read more

We had a restful nights sleep even though I kept smelling skunks due to the fact we sleep with our bedroom windows open. I hate to admit my naïveté but my husband explained to me that it wasn't skunks that I was smelling but it was the neighbors next door partaking in some marijuana smoking. I told him that it didn't smell like any I had smelled before. I truly thought it was a skunk. Oh well, to each his own. We just closed the window until they went to bed or passed out, whichever Came first. ? When we checked out in the morning we asked the clerk if we should exchange some money here or wait until we got into Canada. He suggested that we do it here rather than in Canada and since ... read more

So we left Coburg, Oregon on Friday morning and headed towards Seattle. They told us that Friday was not a particularly good day to travel but we are not particularly smart travelers. We thought we would maybe stop for the night somewhere south of Seattle to miss traffic and then get up early on Saturday and head through Seattle and then over the border since we were told that crossing the border before noon was usually the best time. Well we flew through Tacoma without any problem so we decided that maybe we were early enough why not try to get through Seattle and stay in Bellingham, WA. What a mistake! I won't bore you with the details but let's just say that it took us 9 hours to go from Coburg to Bellingham which is ... read more

We arrived here in Coburg, Oregon on Tuesday and settled in at Camp Marathon. We always enjoy staying here as we have made many friends here since purchasing our bus in 2013. We spent Wednesday visiting and catching up with everyone as well as driving around to some of our favorite spots. I took some pictures of all of the beautiful flowers that they have around here. I would go crazy with the flower baskets if I lived here. It is too hot at home to have them but the climate is perfect here for them to grow. We also went to our favorite fruit farm, Deterings. They have all kinds of fruits and vegetables as well as jams, pies, and canned items. It's kind of like a mini Casa de Fruta. We have some shopping ... read more

Greetings everyone! We are at it again after 2 years of not being able to travel long distances. We got the approval from Stanford to check off another "bucket list" trip and head to Alaska. It did not come easy as we have done a lot of planning i.e. making sure we had enough meds, signing up for emergency medivac service and knowing which hospitals along the way that are transplant friendly. All things are doable if you plan and that is what we have to do now that we have this new way of life. It's all about living and that is what I was given this second chance to do. We are so excited and look forward to this great adventure that we have wanted to do for years. There are no pictures today ... read more

So here we are starting the month of August and while we have been gone for 108 days we are a little sad to see this trip come to an end. We have traveled through 21 states, stayed at 26 RV parks, 2 Marathon Coach parking lots, 1 Prevost parking lot, and our friends/families houses in Texas, Arizona, Colorado, and Idaho. We even had to spend 1 night in a hotel while they were fixing our Coach at Marathon. We have been to a wedding, danced to Zydeco music in Louisiana, saw fire flies dance in the night, listened to wonderful heartfelt Gospel music, visited Billy Graham's Library, attended Sunday Church Service at an RV park in Tennessee where God is number one in everyone's lives and you really feel it when they said it, reconnected ... read more

So in my last blog I told you that we were all headed to Wyoming to fish. There were nine of us in the group and we went to Glendo, Wyoming to catch Walleye. I, of course was just a spectator as those of you who know me know that I don't do smelly, dirty, fishy things so I just stayed in camp while everyone else went out on the boat each day to see what they could catch. You will see by the pictures that they all did quite well in the fish department but as for Glendo it wasn't very nice to Don & I. We first experienced trouble with our satellite and couldn't seem to get reception there. It was extremely frustrating as everyone else was not having a problem but I told ... read more
