We made it to the Yukon Territory! ? Decided to leave the beauty of Muncho Lake after Don caught his fish. The limit is two and he figured since he hadn't had any luck from the shore and only caught one from the boat that we would mosey on down the road. Ended up in Watson Lake at the Downtown RV Park with all the other Caravans. This place had 80 sites and they were all full! We were packed in like sardines. It is nothing to look at as evidenced by the picture I took the morning after everyone left. Basically just a gravel parking lot but it has wifi, 50 amp, AND cable TV! Therefore this place is a 5 star?!! We got in early because we knew the caravans were headed here and we were hoping to grab a spot. We were lucky to get one and this left us some time to explore the tiny town. They are known for the "Sign Post Forest". You will see by the pictures that there are literally thousands of signs, 75,000 at last count, that people have posted over the years. It all started in 1942 when a homesick Army

These are what the roads are looking like in spots now. They do go on for miles. Not good. ?
soldier working on the Alaskan Highway posted a sign pointed to his hometown of Danville, Illinois. We made a sign and posted it so that Clovis will be represented.

Along the drive from Muncho Lake to Watson Lake we saw 8 bears (couldn't get pictures as we were traveling by too fast) as well as a couple of herds of buffalo and some stone sheep. The road finally got a little rough. We traveled in some gravel today. Not bad, but it was a little slower going. We are finding that it is taking a lot longer for travel. We are lucky to get 160 to 175 miles a day in due to the fact of the road conditions and steep, winding hills. We decided to stay an extra night here to enjoy the amenities ? and also to let the caravans get ahead of us so that hopefully we can get away from their chaos. Thinking of driving all the way to Whitehorse from here which is 275 miles. That will be a long day's drive and we have heard the road is not good when we leave here. We will see. Stay tuned! ?
