Geo: 55.6763, 12.5681CopenhagenLittle Mermaid, walking and more friends. We took a train from Orebro to Copenhagen. I have been told that Denmark is similar to Sweden but it's more like the cheeky little brother. We took the tour bus that took us around the city and we jumped on and off all day. We saw the Little Mermaid and the Hans Christen Andersen statues which are in very different locations of the city. We met up with other friends at the Tivoli which is a theme park and the kids spent the afternoon riding the rides while we sat, talked and drank coffee. The city is very beautiful and has a fairytale feel to it. The whole city is very arty. From the buildings to cute quirky designer shops selling fabric and house holds items.... read more

Geo: 59.2741, 15.2066Orebro Castle, water tower, more friends. This time of the year it is never dark. The sun doesn't fully go down which meant endless sunsets. Which is brilliant but that would mean that during the winter it would be the complete opposite and it would be dark for a lot longer. I'm glad we where here during this never ending sunset. The castle in the city center is surrounded by a moat and we went inside for a tour. The water tower is a very odd mushroom like looking tower that has an amazing view from the top. Lots of the ladies that played mahjong in Nanjing have moved back to Sweden so we needed to had a catch up for a game or two of corse. The never ending sun setting is really ... read more

Geo: 36.0757, 103.679There really is something special about traveling, especially when you wake up in a different place. The sun was slowly rising and filling the train carriage. The strange landscape kept racing past. I had my camera ready to catch a glimpse of something special and different.By the time we had arrived at the Louzhou train station at 9:18am everyone was up. They had breakfast. Most of the kids had the 2 minute instant noodles where you just add the boiling water. We had another guide waiting for us. On the bus we all went.First stop, The Waterwheel Garden. OK. The chinese love their gardens. The guide asked us if we wanted to go on a boat made of sheep skin that goes on the Yellow river. We walked down the stairs past the Huge Waterwheel and ... read more

Geo: 40.15, 94.68Mingsha Hill which is known as one of the 8 Great Landscapes” of Dunhuang. It's also known as the Singing Sand Dunes.Supposedly a war between two armies ended here and the troops where buried by strong winds and their cries still echo from the mountains. From far away the looked huge and almost like they had been man made. The fine edge of the dunes seemed so fine like it had been cut like a knife with great precision but in actual fact when you got closer to the edge, it was about one meter wide and you could see all of the peoples footsteps. We jumped onto camels and we started our trek into the sand dunes. The camels all had there bell and a pretty carpet on their back with a very odd wooden saddle. ... read more

It was Coffee and one fried egg. That was it?After our exciting breakfast we jumped into the bus and off we went to visit the Yumen Pass which is part of the Silk Road. We drove and drove. There was literaly nothing around. Just sand and more sand and a few bushes. We stopped to buy tickets to get into the Area and we all got out to stretch our legs. The kids asked, “Can we run?”“Sure,” we all yelled, “GO?”Well they ran and ran until we could hardly see them in the distance.Well I suppose they cant get too lost?It was a really odd feeling that in China you could be so far away of civilization. The cities of China are so crowded and here we where really in the middle of ... read more

Noodles, baozi, soup and tea. Perfect.Back on the bus and off to Jiayuguan Pass.Jiayuguan Pass is the first pass at the west end of the Great Wall of China. The day was a little overcast but the Wall is amazing. It is hard to believe that people actually lived within these walls. Life would have been very difficult. There where so many camels and the kids also did some archery.Back on the bus and we went into the city for lunch. We walked around in search of food. Some of us ordered chicken. Yes the whole chicken arrived. Yes it was cooked and cut ... read more

Geo: -6.36903, 34.8888Mukluks Village and Camel ride to Baboon Cave. After breakfast we set out to Baboon cave about a 1 hour drive. The camel ride is was very interesting. The movement of the camel was very hypnotic. At first, I tried to keep straight and ridged. Then I saw my daughter sunk back relaxed and her leg over the saddle. So I tried her approach. Relaxed and legs crossed over the saddle. It was surprisingly better.... read more
