Geo: 32.0404, 118.785Yeh. Our container finally arrived. HEY..... IT'S ALL MINE TOO.It came quite quickly compared to many other horror stories I have heard. The head guy who organizing all of the workers was a really cool dude. His name was Arnold.... Not so cool, but I didn't tell him that.He would have made a really good Elvis impersonator. Then the boxes started to arrive. The container wasn't allowed onto the compound so they had to move the boxes to a smaller truck and then they could unload it at our house. The house was full of boxes. It took 3 truck loads to get it all inside. Some of the furniture was amazing how they packed them. The table is my favorite. It was almost a shame to remove the packaging. Well a week has passed and I have managed ... read more

Geo: 32.0404, 118.785It's Monday again. Kids are at school....Caught the Metro (train) for the first time all by myself....WARNING... The only time that Chinese move quickly is when they are trying to get a seat on the Metro. It doesn't' matter if you are man, woman, child, old or very old. Boy can they run.Jumped on Xuezelu Station. There was a 1 minute wait.... Not bad. Take note Australian trains. The train forgot to stop... No probs another arrives in 4 minutes.Go 11 stops. Get off at Xinjiekou station. Jump onto line 1 and go 2 more stops down to Sanshan Station.Go out exit 4.... OHHH... Where am I.I walked one way.... Then walked back the other.... This looks familiar.... Yes.. I'm not lost.I have been there a number of times but always on the weekend. There ... read more

Geo: 32.0404, 118.785So what is a typical Friday you may ask????First thing at 8.15 there is Zumba usually but for 3 weeks the lady who takes it is on holidays, therefore no Zumba today. Then it is off to the school cafe to play mahjong with the other ladies. It's really interesting. There are so many little rules.I teamed up with another new mum Aley and we won 2 games.... Yeah. Then it was time for lunch. We went to "Dumplings" and we ate dumplings and broccoli with a beer.It cost us 45 yuan ( $6.00 ) for all of us......Wow... and we couldn't finish the beers... they where long necks....We where so stresses from our busy day that we went and had our usual Friday foot massage...That cost us 48 yuan each ( yes around $6.00 each ... read more

Geo: 32.0404, 118.785The day started out really well.I was given some samples of shampoo and conditioner on the Monday while shopping with Zoe so I thought .... "Why not use them!" So I did. Only problem... which is which????Is the smaller one Shampoo or is it Conditioner... I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right or wrong. And I got it right.... Yeah.Headed off to school for parent, teacher interviews. All OK after 4 weeks of school in Nanjing. Then we jumped into the Metro to Xinjiekou where you will find Fashion Lady. It is a maze over two floors of so many shops about the size of a small bathroom. Very tiny but also so many. The kids bought more shoes....Luca had a meeting with a soccer team this morning.... We shall see... They didn't really care ... read more

Geo: 32.0617, 118.778In China, usually you have one good day and then one bad day...Yesterday was good but I knew it was going to be bad when I poured what I thought was milk into my "wake me up" morning coffee.I looked a little thick. I thought OK.... cream would be OK. NO... It was drinking yoghart. In the store it was right next to the milk... in the same bottle... it was white... What else could it be?DRINKING YOGHART..... If you can't read Chinese it's an easy mistake. The ayie (maid) came nice and early. Perfect. I was frantically trying to translate that I had to go out and I would be back at 1pm to lock up.Then I felt that my feet where a little wet. AHHH... WHAT?I looked up to see the huge fish ... read more

Geo: 32.0617, 118.778What a beautiful day.Met up with the Zinkiewicz's for a day of sight seeing.Saw our first kites. Very beautiful.Saw lots of temples and crazy GOLD statues. The huge budda with loads of little kids was the best. The temples where built on the hill side. There where odd stairs taking us up higher and higher. It was worth the effort. The signs where all very odd. The translations wheren't quite right. The best one was about Bank Insurance.....Ahhh.... Can't expalin that one.Went to lunch at a fantastic place... I think I need to keep track of things a little bit better...We ate and ate and ate....Great day... read more

There where so many cables being pushed into man holes and a few metres down the road other men where pulling them out of another man hole.China is an amazing place.Bought some nice things for Xmas presents. So many little shops.... Need more time.Down one of the side streets in front of a shop out in the open there was a pool table.
