Geo: 42.8528, -72.5583Editor's NOTE: Normally Glenn proof-read's my blog and does some major editing, however I am not asking him to do this for me, since he needs a break. So bear with me if there are misspelled words and the grammar is incorrect. Thanks for reading. Also, I've changed the format for the most recent entry to be on top.Today, Tuesday was a pretty hard and consistent day. We left Millie's farm at exactly 6:00am. Our scheduled plan to leave. We didn't know how hard it would be to cross back over into USA. We had no problem at all. The traffic was pretty light going through Buffalo NY. The sun was shining straight into our eyes as we headed East on the Tollway. As we drove along the interstate 90, it was pretty. There are ... read more

Geo: 42.9934, -79.2392On Monday morning, Glenn slept in til 9am. I was up earlier in the morning, took a shower, then went back to bed.We decided we needed to run into town to the local Tim Hortons, which is like a combination of Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. Plus they have internet and I had to send an email to the folks we were staying with in Vermont. We also wanted to go to the grocery store and get some sandwich supplies for lunch. After eating a nice b'fast, Glenn and I drove 10 minutes into town. We stopped by the local grocery store and bought chips, ham and cheese and some bread and pickles. We arrived at Tim Hortons and Glenn signed me into the internet then ordered some donuts. Glenn had some challenges communicating to the employee. ... read more

Geo: 42.885, -79.252Millie, 92 going on 93 was our hostess. She lives on a farm by herself. Quite the young spry old lady. She had a sense of humor, good memory and was just a delight to be with.Since I knew that once we arrive into Canada I would not have internet on my phone, and or course I would not have any phone service also. When Robyn gave me her address, I couldn't pull it up on GPS. Very frustrating. So in route, Glenn pulled over to a Panera bread store and got me hooked up with the internet. I was able to use the same address and find her home on MapQuest. It was very frustrating, but we managed. I had Glenn take a photo with his iphone, so we would have a copy to ... read more

Geo: 43.0955, -79.0559Glenn and I woke up earlier today, as it was 6:00am, and I had wanted to get up by 6:30am. After going to the bathroom, I told Glenn "I am not going to get back in THAT bed to need to get out again in 30 min!" So we walked down to the community showers/bath. All was quiet and nice and cool on Sunday morning. We had pancakes out on the deck. Delicious. We packed up and followed Brenda and Keith to church. Sunday morning, we attended church The Chapel in Sandusky with Keith and Brenda. The preacher was spot on. Very good. After the service we said good-bye and headed towards Niagara Falls/Canada. As we were heading down the interstate 90, I texted Rosa Brown to see if she wanted to meet us for ... read more

Geo: 41.4959, -82.7326Surprisingly, I slept in til 7:30am in the morning. I did wake up several times during the night. I would take my iphone's flashlight to help me get to the tiny bathroom.I walked down to the public bathroom. Forgot my towel, so used my robe. It was good to take a shower. I felt like I was walking down MBI Haughton Hall back in the day, taking my change of clothes, shampoo and stuff in a small bucket.Keith and Brenda made omelets for us for breakfast. We sat out on the deck. The weather was beautiful. Bright blue skies.Right after breakfast, we headed out for our first sailing. We went went out later in the evening for a 'sunset cruise'. I prefer the 2nd sailing better than the first. I guess I like the ... read more

Geo: 41.4496, -82.7078We had a leisurely morning to leave Inn Keepers Ministry housing. I think we pulled out about 9am. Glenn and I both had bowls of cereal for breakfast. The drive from "other side of Dayton, Ohio" to "Columbus, Ohio" was just about 2 hours. We had plenty time drive without being rushed. We met up with Krista M at the Restaurant/Pub "The Goat" for lunch. Glenn filled up with gas since we arrived in plenty of time. Krista treated us for lunch. Thanks Krista. I traveled with Krista in 2004 to Europe when she lead the group of representatives for Christian colleges to International schools. We traveled together to Russia, Hungary, Austria and Germany. Annette M. traveled with me, as I represented Moody Bible Institute.Krista also came to Guatemala back in 2007 when she was ... read more

Geo: 40.0399, -84.2039After a nice breakfast on the patio, and FACETIME with G'daddy to see how he was doing, Glenn and I came inside and started working on the computers.I mentioned to Glenn that Bill and Sally Strebig were just about 30-40 minutes away. We called them up and they invited us over for lunch - Goolosh. Delicious. Fresh tomatoes from their garden. We sat around the kitchen table, just reliving our friendship over the years. Bill reminded us that the first time we met, was in 1996. They were going down to Bolivia to visit their son, Dan, and we were returning to Bolivia after a year of furlough. We have since seen them several times, like in 1999 when Dan married Jenny in Bolivia, and in 2000 when we dropped Ellen off at Moody and we ... read more

Geo: 39.8461, -84.5397I woke up at 4am and was able to do some computer work for a while since the Internet was turned on at Jon's house. We ate breakfast, and then headed out of the Edward's place towards Ohio. We took another route to the interstate, winding through corn fields. Now our RAV 4 is all dirty from the white stone gravel we were traveling on.Glenn drove the whole day. We had a short trip to Lewisburg, Ohio. Just 2 hours. A little longer with potty stops. We got to InnKeeper's Ministry place and got settled in. Before hand, we stopped at the dollar store and purchased some cough drops. Geo: 39.2072, -86.2511We really slept in today. Glenn woke up at 8:30am. I woke up at 7:30am and did some computer work. Since we all slept in, we didn't eat breakfast until 9:30am. Jan had fixed some english muffins, sausages and scrambled eggs. Then afterwards Jon read to us and we just had a "season" of sweet fellowship.I just had to "excuse" myself and take my morning nap. I laid down from 11:15-1:00pm. Good nap. I guess I was tired from everything over the past few weeks- watching g'kids, helping with G'mommy and G'daddy. I'm also fighting a sore throat too.Jon and Jan's daughter, Mary and 3 of her 4 kids came over for hotdogs and chips. Very well-behaved and respectful kids. We enjoyed getting to meet Mary. Geo: 39.3736, -86.2606I woke up around 4:30am and waited until about 5:15 to wake Glenn up.Since we only had our "overnight bags" and nothing else inside the Binder's house, it was easy to get ready and leave. We of course left before dawn and headed towards Indiana where Jonathan and Jan Edwards live. We had said our goodbyes to the Binders the night before.Glenn needed to fill up with gas before we got much further down the road. Once we got on the interstate, we stopped for breakfast at Chick-fil-A in St. Joseph' Mo. We had never eaten breakfast at a Chick-a-Lay (as Emily would say).Instead of dipping down into Kansas City and driving to St. Louis and then over to Indiana, we chose to drive across the northern part of Missouri. It was on a ... read more
