Geo: 39.0712, -104.663This morning, we woke up around 6:30am. The kids had cereal and english muffins for breakfast. Then G'dad go the bicycles out and took the kids for a bike ride. David was all dressed out in his Batman shirt and cape. Glenn was able to pull the kids all together, with the girls in the yellow trailer and David sitting side saddle on the bars in front and then sitting behind Glenn. They took turns with just Emily and Lucy in the trailer and then just Lucy by her self. Dad didn't ride too far, just up and down the long drive way and towards the barn. The road out front is gravel. So, they just stayed on the cement. The morning was very relaxing. The kids ran down to the play area and played there several ... read more

Geo: 38.8331, -104.822The g'kids woke up around 6:30am this morning. I fixed Instant Oatmeal. They all ate very well. Then G'dad decided to do some minor work on the RAV 4. Like draining something. While that was draining, he took David and Emily for a bike ride.Afterwards, we decided to go into Colorado Springs. Glenn wanted me to find a Muffler Shop, so he could have the Sienna Van's muffler repaired. I searched the internet and and Glenn called several places determining which would do the repair today. It was a 30 minute drive to the Muffler Shop. It was just around the corner from the old Current Outlet store. After dropping the van off, Glenn dropped me off at the Current Outlet. The Outlet store is going out of business effective mid August. I had told ... read more

Geo: 39.3759, -104.86We all slept fairly well. G'mommy and G'daddy stayed in the main/queen size bed and Glenn and I stayed in the bunk bed room. Glenn slept on the floor. We went to bed around 9 or 10. G'mommy was hot, but we knew that during the night, it turns really cold. When everyone woke up, I fixed English muffins for mom and Dad. They went out on the porch and ate outside. G'mommy put her make-up on at the breakfast table. We then drove towards Ellen's house but not on I25. We took 83 which parallels the interstate. Since we had enough time, I chose to do a letterbox in a cemetery off of Spring Valley Road. This is what I wrote on Atlas Quest to record the Letterbox.Amazing. We had enough time to drive off of the ... read more

Geo: 39.2839, -106.062On Monday morning, we woke up and pulled out of Shelter Pines at 7:30am. I googled the closest place (en route) of Discount Tires. And we stopped there for Glenn to have the tires rotated. That took 30 minutes. No charge. And then we had the RAV 4 washed across the street. We continued on to the Hoosier Pass, on the way to Breckenridge, CO.We arrived early at the hiway MM 73/74 and waited for Sherrie driving her van with G'mommy and G'daddy. Behind her, was Rick and Bev, who had been staying at Tiger Run and Rick was doing some motorcycling. Brian, Fred and Linda were up earlier in the week.We saw where Molly drove off the road. At this time, G'mommy needed to go to the bathroom, so Glenn and I drove ... read more

Afterwards, we had donuts. Then we followed Ellen and Luke to Denver Seminary to see where they would be living. Next door is a park/flower park. We walked through there. We had lunch at McDonalds. Although we wanted a play-land McDonalds, but couldn't find one.Afterwards, we came back home and Dad and I rested up for the upcoming busy week we will have, connecting with mom and dad and taking them to David's party, then to the airport, then keeping the g'kids for 5 days.I ... read more

Geo: 39.0712, -104.663We drove to Ellen and Luke's place only to find that they were not there. We stopped at Freddy's to have a small bit to eat, then continued on to Shelter Pines. This is a small cottage that is designed for those in ministry to get away. The owners, Tim and Lynn were not in when we arrived, so we made ourselves at home. We unpacked and got settled in.When they arrived, we talked a mile a minute. Making connections and such. We also saw a deer walking through the property.I am looking forward to having my parents here along with the g'kids later in the week. Plenty of room to run and jump and play,.... read more

Geo: 39.19, -106.818We got up Friday morning. I had made a picnic lunch the night before. We headed towards Carbondale, then Basalt then Aspen. The traffic getting into Aspen was horrible. We pulled off and drove towards the Marroon Bells area. There was a letterbox in the area. Glenn got bit by some ants when we picked up the letterbox. We walked back to the RAV 4 to stamp and record our find. Then we drove back to the city of Aspen and on pass to the Independence Pass. IT was a beautiful drive. I especially like the drive from Aspen where the road narrows down to one lane and there are large rocks and bolders on each side.We went all the way to the top of Independence Pass. It was cold and windy up there. We drove ... read more

Geo: 39.0722, -107.189We drove our hostess, Melissa M to Marble, CO. This is where she and her husband moved to back in the 70's. They started the Retreat Center, Marble Retreat. It is designed for those in Christian service to come to relax, receive counseling and to gain new insight on their lives and ministry. After the quick 30 min. tour, we headed towards the mines. The road was beautiful. The mountains were spectacular. We ran into a family of 5 children that followed us up the mountain. They were in town for a family reunion. We returned to the small town and did a quick LetterBox. Great Location. Then we had lunch at a local B-B-Que place in town. Glenn and I shared the brisquiet.
