We got up Friday morning. I had made a picnic lunch the night before.

We headed towards Carbondale, then Basalt then Aspen. The traffic getting into Aspen was horrible. We pulled off and drove towards the Marroon Bells area. There was a letterbox in the area.

Glenn got bit by some ants when we picked up the letterbox. We walked back to the RAV 4 to stamp and record our find.

Then we drove back to the city of Aspen and on pass to the Independence Pass. IT was a beautiful drive. I especially like the drive from Aspen where the road narrows down to one lane and there are large rocks and bolders on each side.

We went all the way to the top of Independence Pass. It was cold and windy up there. We drove down to the Ghost Town of Independence and sat there and had our picnic lunch there. There wind was not bad at all.

We stopped in Carbondale for me to get some ice cream. That was good. Glenn bought something at the hardware store - I think for the bike rack.

We watched news and went to bed early.
