Three and a half years ago we decided to become Life Style Changers (LSC's / Retired ) and intend to spend as much time as possible travelling and visiting as many places we can across our vast and beautiful country plus as much of the world as possible.

To assist us in this quest, we have taken up "house sitting" and caring for other peoples pets and have enjoyed this so much we intend to continue with this as long as our health allows.

Given it may be some time before we can meet up with many of our wonderful friends, we have created this blog so that we can keep you all up to date on where we are, the places we have visited and what we are doing at any given time.

I hope you enjoy reading about our travels as much as we enjoy them 😊

Hi Travel followers. We have been very slack in regard to our Travel Blog (where does the time go) and hence have decided to join a few together in an attempt to catch up to where we are at the moment. So much has been happening it is hard to fit it all in. From Cradley we moved on to our 5th house sit at Wellington, but on the way we stopped in at Bath to check out some of the sights. We must also say our house sit at Tracebridge was absolutely beautiful and was first built in the 10th century as a Roman "barn" but has had a number of renovations every few hundred years to a saw mill and then to a house around the 1700's. The pets/animals we are also caring for ... read more

Hi Travel Lovers. We have now moved on from Shrewsbury to our 4th house sit at Cradley near Worcester (Worcestershire) and what a lovely couple the owners are. Their home is absolutely beautiful (see photo's) and was originally built in the 1750's with a few additions over the next 260 years. Other than that, we also paid a quick visit on the way to Ludlow where we have yet another house sit in October. It doesn't get any better!!! nce settled in at Cradley, we took the opportunity to do a mornings touring of a couple of the local heritage sites to the north. All within 15 miles. First it was Edvin Loach Old Church, Witley Court & Gardens plus the attached church ( with its beautiful interior) and then Leigh Court Barn. All spectacular in ... read more

Hi travel lovers. Here are our latest adventures from the UK. We have completed our second UK house sit at Itchen Abbas (near Winchester - Hampshire) and it was absolutely lovely with just two lovely cats & 5 chickens to care for. Free eggs. We did a little exploring of the local area towns like Wickham and Bishop's Waltham with it's Bishop's Palace. It happened to be the Alresford "Watercress Festival" (3 mile up the road) so we drove over to Ropley and caught the steam train into Alresford and had a few hours enjoying the local fare before heading back on the steam train to pick up our car. Apparently Alresford is the Watercress capitol of the UK because of its chalk beds and crystal clear water. The weather has been spectacular so we were ... read more

Hi travel followers/lovers. We finally got a free day (raining and miserable outside) to start updating everyone on our UK adventures. After leaving Martinstown and after we finished our first UK house sit, we had 4 days to tour the south west coast of Cornwall, England. We travelled from Martinstown to Polperro via Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Plymouth. All lovely towns, BUT I must say Polperro has to take the win for the most beautiful little cove we have seen to date. We stayed the night at Milly's B&B after walking to the Smugglers Cove , but the weather was a bit crook so we waited it out in front of the fire with a couple of "Pimms & Ginger ales" in the Three Pilchards Inn while overlooking the harbour. Just one of those spots and ... read more

Hi Travel followers/lovers. This is our latest blog to bring us up to date on where we are and what we have done/experienced over the first week. After a couple of days exploring London we headed back to Gatwick via the express train to pick up our little hire car and then on towards Portsmouth for a nights stay in a great little B&B booked via Airbnb. From Portsmouth we travelled on to our first house sit at Martinstown near Dorchester in the south of England. What a beautiful little country town it is and we are so pleased with our choice. In this area, if the building is not 500 or more years old it is "new". Attached are a couple of shots from Dorchester. The church is over 1000 years old. Today we began ... read more

This blog is the first of our six month UK Adventure and only made possible by our availability to house sit properties/homes and caring for the owners pets all over the UK including Scotland, Wales and England. Something we have been doing for the last year and a half in Australia and found it so enjoyable we decided it was time to expand our availability into other countries like the UK. After flying out of Melbourne, our first stop was in Hong Kong where we had basically a full day (20 hrs) to explore as much as we could fit in before having dinner, 6 hours sleep (at the Hong Kong Sky City Marriott) and then heading back to the airport for our next flight out to Gatwick airport in the UK. While in Hong Kong ... read more

Hi travel followers. We couldn't believe it has been 10 months since our last blog and thought it would be time for an update. Too much has happened and way too many fabulous experiences have occurred to be specific, but if you are not already aware (via Facebook), we have decided to include "house/pet sitting" as part of our travels. What a great opportunity it has been to look after so many diverse homes and most importantly pets. We have sat 5 properties over the last 7 months from Hervey Bay, Boat Harbour, Stoney Shute (Nimbin), The Gap (Brisbane) and now at Stanmore in the Glasshouse Mountains on the Sunshine Coast, with only short breaks between and what a wonderful and rewarding experience it has been. So many lovely people/owners (including neighbours) and their wonderful pets. ... read more

Hi travel followers. We just realised it has been "five weeks" since the last blog. Where do the days and weeks go!!! We must say that the time has been action packed and the moss definitely hasn't grown under the "van". From Old Bar on the last blog, we travelled to Hawks Nest for a few days. Unfortunately there was a strong wind blowing most of the time we were there and all we could do is many of the walks around town and along the beaches etc. It was then on to Stockton Beach (Newcastle) for a week where we do our annual doctors check-ups and Lyn does her skin checks etc. I must say the weather here was excellent with beautifully warm days and we got the chance to do some swimming at the ... read more

Hi travel followers. I just realised it has been nearly 4 weeks since the last update and thought it time for some more adventures. From Toowoomba we headed for the Gold Coast and Pottsville to catch up with John & Jill of whom we have caught up with a few times in our travels and enjoy getting together with. As usual it was great to have a catch up and enjoy the local area including Coolangatta, Kingscliff, Hastings Point and of course the Pottsville Sunday markets etc. From there it was on to my home town of Mullumbimby for a week to catch up with Joy and Darren and the majority of their extended family, plus a bit of renovating thrown in for good measure. It is always a pleasure to spend a bit of time ... read more

Hi travel followers. Well it is time for the latest update as we have covered a bit of ground since the last one. From Barcaldine we headed over the Great Dividing Range to Emerald for a few days via Sapphire and Rubyvale which are interesting little mining towns. All very small operations where anyone can come in, buy a 1 month licence and fossick for Sapphires etc. The hills are covered in little mining plots with caravans set up to live in etc. Emerald was a great spot to just relax for a few days and there was a great Golf Club right behind the van park so I got the opportunity to have a couple of rounds. Excellent!!! From Emerald it was on to Rolleston for a day before heading into Carnarvon Gorge for 4 ... read more
