Today we planned to head to Mossel Bay for our Garden Route road trip for the Rd of 16 game in port Elizabeth. I woke up at 8 am today and hopped into a car for a good 4 hours. At the beginning of the drive I was dying form a massive headache which I attributed to tlast nights debauchery combined with the lack of being able to grab breakfast since we were in a rush. After about an hour of enduring a massive headache and hunger we stopped at a small grocery store/café where I picked up a quiche, carrot muffin, mango juice, 3 apples, and some billatong beef jerky to satisfy my hunger for all about 30 rand! That’s approximately a litte over 4 dollars! What up!!!!! During the road trip (we were taking ... read more

Today I woke up went to Kaui for beakfast (it’s a fast food joint-ish). My voice was definitely still hoarse and practically gone from last night. After breakfast, Luda, Lauren and I went to see penguins at Boulder Beach and then hit up Muizenburg beach to hang out for a bit. The drive to Boulder Beach and back was AMAZING! I have some great pictures to show you guys. After our morning/afternoon escapades we returned to cape town to catch the Cameroon/Holland Game. I had the best seats ever for the Cameroon/Holland game. They were right at the center line behind the players about 10 rows up!! After the game we went to the Waterfront bars and got into another chanting battle with the English fans. We created a “song committee” among some of the guys ... read more

Let me first start off by saying that today was the BEST DAY EVER! Unfortunately I do not have the patience nor the eloquent writing ability to fully convey the greatness of this day, specifically the evening. So when I get back to the states you will have to hear about this day in person. But for now here is my attempt at conveying greatness. Today I woke up early again to hike signal hill to catch the sunrise. The 4 of us who decided to go (Danny, Hal, Natalie and myself) woke up a little late so we drove up near the top of signal hill took some pictures and then did a hike to Lions Head. The hike was awesome! We did some crazy hiking uphill on rocks and even did some rock face ... read more

Today was day 3 of my sickness. According to Galen who was sick before me, day 3 should be the turning point of the sickness. From feeling shitty, to feeling ok and just a little sick. I was definitely feeling better after taking massive amounts of vitamins and hot water and vicks and gargling 3 times a day with hot salt water. Today I woke up at 6:45 to accompany Danny to the airport to drop of the Peeks so I could cash my traveler checks and pick up my round of 16 Cape Town ticket!!! We returned back around 9 o’clock with 20 minutes to spare before we embarked on our shark diving! The bus was similar to the wine tour bus and we drove around cape town picking up other individuals before heading to ... read more

Sorry, I am over a week behind on blogging so these week’s blogs will most likely be very short and lacking much detail. You will have to hear the details later. However this week had to be one of the best weeks of my life and will definitely be a week to remember for the many years to come. It is partially because of that, that I am that far behind on my blogging. But like I said this week was amazing despite the initial bad start. After wine tasting yesterday, last night my throat was not doing too well. A few others in the house had been sick previously and it seemed as if I had caught what they had. So last night I had pulled out all the stops by taking vitamins, drinking 6 ... read more

Today we went wine tasting. The wine was amazing and the company was great. The wine tour included entrance to 2 wineries with wines from 5 different wineries and transportation to and from the house. To start the morning we all piled into a nice "party bus" ready for our day of debauchery. When we arrived at the first winery our tour guide gave us some good tips about wine tasting and how to be a wine connissieur. His tutorial was pretty awesome and I learned a lot. At the first winery we were to try 6 wines and try multiple cheeses made from goat milk and cow milk. I ended up trying about 9 wines and learned that a sweet raisin wine tastes divine with bleu cheese!!! After the first winery we stopped by cheeetah ... read more

Finally all caught up to the date of the blog posting... I think my clock may be finally getting back to normal. Today as I normally would after a night/day of “partying,” I woke up at 8:30 am. I quickly got ready and jumped in the first car that would head out to our adventure for today. Today we decided to go to a “restaurant” located on the beach called Die Strandloper. This was not your ordinary restaurant and it was a good 1 and a half hour drive from where we were staying. Luda actually found out about this restaurant in an airplane magazine, when he couldn’t sleep due to a crying baby nearby. I am definitely thankful for that crying baby. From Luda’s description he said it was a place on the beach that ... read more

Today had to be the best day so far at the World Cup. I have to admit after a couple days in the house here in Camps Bay I was worried that we wouldn’t be doing as much sightseeing and exciting stuff, but rather just chilling in the house watching the games and going to the games that we had tickets for. But after today I am definitely super excited and can’t believe that I get to be at the World Cup. And this next week is undeniably going to be quite exhilarating. I didn’t quite wake up for the 2am television of the NBA playoffs but woke up early enough (10am) to catch the last two quarters of the replayed broadcast in the morning. Can’t lie I was definitely excited seeing the Celtics leading ... read more

Today I woke up at 11am still loving the vacation time. Not wearing a watch I don’t really ever know what time it is. I simply tell time by what World Cup game is currently on or next. A bunch of us hit up the same Clifton Beach I went to earlier this week, while two of the guys went to hit up some internet in the town since our internet connection back home was out. We played a little soccer at the beach and enjoyed the sun and then headed back home in time for the World Cup games. Definitely living life in between the soccer games we planned out the weekend and some fun touring events based on which games were to be played on which days and who was playing. We decided to ... read more

Today I woke up around noon. After eating some homemade muffins 2 of the girls decided to go on a hike to the top of Table Mountain while most of the guys were going to head to the grocery store to get some meats to bbq in the evening. I decided to go with the girls on the hike, thinking it would be a relatively easy hike. I was definitely sadly mistaken. The sign at the beginning of the hike said it was a 2.5 hr hike, we ended finishing the hike in 1.5 hrs. Parts of the hike reminded me of the hike to half dome, very vertical and a lot of stair-like climbing the whole way. The sights of Camps Bay from the hike were pretty amazing and I got some awesome panoramic pictures ... read more
