So, we stayed about out of town as we are cheapskates and knew we could rent bikes from our guesthouse for a dollar :) Happy days! The owner was super smiley, always saying yeah and walked to the shop to get us cold beer (Song-Thanh homestay). In the evening, we walked into the centre and walked along the river front (offered many a river boat ride!) One of the first things you notice about Hoi-An is the lovely smell of incense burning (token to the dead), the second is the beautiful silk lanterns and the third is the sheer amount of tailor shops which to made to measure clothing. Day 10 Stayed up late last night packing my bag for the night bus to Nha Trang tomorrow. I'm finding it difficult to pack everything because I've bought so much. Another good nights sleep. Up , showered and down for breakfast for 9am. The showers have been cold, but it's amazing how you just get used to it... Lol, I'm still hoping for a nice warm shower in Nha Trang. We checked out, 10210000 Dong (£6 a night) Hoa Binh hotel with pool! Worth every penny. It's been raining again and is overcast. It's still warm but not beach weather. Day 9 - cycling in Hoi An and Cam Nam Island Another easy start to the day with no alarm again. We packed bags before going down to breakfast as we are expecting a room move due to needing an extra night. This being because of not being able to get on the bus that we needed to. Therefore one extra day in Hoi An. As it is an extra day, we had nothing planned. We had a really filling breakfast before making our plans for the day. It's raining today, not heavily, but enough to put us off going to the beach! We agreed on getting a shower poncho and heading out on bikes. Day 8 - A lazy day at the beach We got up this morning, au natural.... Yayyyy, no alarm clock. We went down foe breakfast which as a really nice change; a buffet breakfast. We had discussed our plans for today last night. The plan is to get a bike and cycle 4km over to An Bang Beach. Before we left we had to confirm our seat on the overnight bus to Nha Trang for tomorrow night, but sadly it is already fully booked. This is a bit of a pain, it just means that we will have to stay in the most amazing city of Hoi Sn with all its simply beautiful Japanese and Chinese influenced shops, bars, cafes and restaurants for an extra night! Day 8 It was lovely not to be woken by an alarm. A leisurely breakfast of bread omelette and water melon. We decided to hire bicycles today and go to the beach. We asked reception to book our overnight bus tomorrow to Nha Trang. They are fully booked .... and so are the trains! Our next option was to see if we can book for the day after and stay in Hoi An another night. Yep, that all worked out and is booked. It meant we had to send emails to the other hotel in Nha Trang. We also emailed Easy Rider motorbikes to make sure what time they were picking us up. Confirmed and all is well. We got the bicycles and ride 4km to the beach.
