You can get a bus from the sinh cafe in hue to Hanoi, it's an overnight sleeping bus. Think it might take about 16 hours. Check out their website. Or else there is the train. We went from hue to Hanoi on the overnight bus, not much sleep but it was cheap. Reply to this

I think first you tell where you live, so that we can suggest you best. Via your information we have to calculate all the things plus we also get the knowledge about that. Reply to this

It will take a similar amount of time and it won't be comfortable. Bus journeys in Vietnam are accompanied by loud honking horns constantly and swerving around lorries and motorbikes. I would go with a car. Travel agents can arrange a car and driver for you. Better still - fly.

The bus company is Hoang Long You can check the website for times. Reply to this

I was born in Haiphong city.So my advice is:
It's very convient to take a bus from Haiphong to Hue.In HP city, there are there bus stations.
But u should catch Hoang Long - good name bus in Tam Bac bus station.Beause of pertrol price is rising so it is about 400.000 - 500.000 VND ( about $23).If you go at the night time you will arrival Hue int he next morning.
Just be careful when u go to local bus station beause of theft, cheating Reply to this

I agree with all you guys that Hoang Long bus is a good choice. They have different time range for you to choose. It often takes 14 hours to get to Hue ( Hai Phong is around 500 kms distant from Hue).
If you leave HP at 9am, you'll stop at Hue at 11pm (you may book a hotel, relax and spend the next day for visiting Hue)
If you leave HP at 6.30pm or 7.30pm, you'll get to Hue at 8.30 am or 9.30am.
the price is 390.000d, around $20.
Or else, you take a bus to Hanoi (less than $5), than flight from Noi Bai to Phu Baii airport (Hue).

If you are in Haiphong, you can take Hoang Long bus to Hue city directly.
If you would like to travel on train or plane you must travel to Hanoi and then take train/plane to Hue.

Note that: Phu Bai airport in Hue will be closed from Mar to Nov 2013

When you are in Hue, you can take private tour or join group tour to visit: Hue city, Phong nha cave, Paradise cave, DMZ.
And then take open bus at 8am or 1pm from Hue to Hoi An or train or private car.
In Hoi An you can join group tour to visit My Son, Cham island (just in summer from Apr to Sep) or some activities in Hoi An, countryside...

Any more help you can contact <snip> in Hue. Email: <snip>. They are reliable and helpful company

Nice time!

It has many way to come Hue from Hai Phong.
From Hai Phong, you can take a bus or train trip for Hanoi, take two and half hours. From Hanoi, get flight trip (75 minutes), sleeping bus (12 hours), night train (13 hours depend).
Or from Hai Phong, take a short flight (80 minutes) for Da nang then take a bus back to Hue (100km, 2 hours). Reply to this

If you want to travel from Hai Phong province to Hue province, there are several ways for you to follow.
You can choose among 3 options below:
1. Take a flight direct to Hue, so fast but expensive, the flight only lasts for a few hours.
2. Take a sleeper bus. The distance between Hai Phong and Hue is about 700 km, and obviously a long trip for you. It can take up to 15 - 16 hours to get there. Like people have said above, one of the best sleep bus is Hoang Long with the ticket fee of either 16$ or 18$. But sometimes it's hard to sleep due to the quality of road and bus.
3. Get to Hue on a train. The time of trip is the same as bus travel, but the train is quite comfortable with food, water, paper, toilet... Reply to this
