Hey everyone, So now we're both on our own little adventures and here's my blog for Borneo, enjoy! I left K.L Wednesday morning for my flight to Kota Kinabalu, in Sabah. The flight was brilliant. Air Asia were a much posher airline than I expected, there were reclining leather seats and the plane was huge. Malaysians don't know how to queue though (I've definitely realised a queue is a very British thing lol!) and as no-one had seat numbers on the plane there was a mad scramble and people were literally running to the plane to get the best seats! I joined in the scrum and managed to get a window seat. As we were coming into land at Kota Kinabalu the scenery was amazing, jungle everywhere and it was so exciting to be in a ... read more

We arrived back in Kota Kinabalu after an uneventful 6hr bus ride via Ranau near Mt. Kinabalu. After we settled in we went for a walk and ended up trying 'cheesy wedges' at KFC...hmm. The following day we decided we should do some touristy things...so we walked to the Sabah Museum. It was probably only a 1.5km walk at most, however because of the heat and humidity we were both exhausted and drenched in sweat by the time we arrived. Turns out the walk was not at all worth it, the museum was old and not particularly exciting so after quickly looking around we walked back to our hotel and collapsed under the fan. The next morning we walked to Jessleton Point to catch a boat out to Pulau Mamutik, one of the smaller islands in ... read more

Borneo Sabah Well on arrival at Kota Kinabalu the weather was glorious the plane lands with south china sea to your left hand side and a few islands in the distance. There seems to be a lot of work going on in Kota Kinabalu (KK) and in my opinion it will a totally different place in the next ten years. We chilled out in our hotel and waited to meet members of our group who we would be travelling with. If anyone is reading this and is climbing the mountain I brought all my stuff over with me from the UK but there are a couple of so called mountaineering shops in KK where you can buy ruck sacs torches knives ~Leki walking sticks etc.... Walk was difficult but looking back now I can say that ... read more

Ons was ... read more

To all our loyal readers (fans) out there... (Hi Mum) We thought we might as well put our latest adventure up for the world to see. So, I'm feeling rather lazy and pressed for time, so you're going to get our whole trip in just one blog, so here goes.... We left Aus last Sunday and headed for Kuala Lumpur thanks to our new fave airline Air Asia and their unbelievably cheap fares (good for you Air Asia, we're sure to become regular customers.) It was an overnight flight, arriving in KL at 4am, urgh, not good, why do we never look like the celebs when they get off an onite flight, nope we had messy hair, sticky eyes and swollen legs, so yep, looking a treat. We decided since being experienced 'tubers' we'd navigate our ... read more

So ja, ongelukkig ... read more

Yeah I know 'another one'! Gonna be the last one for a while though. Just thought i'd do one quick short one with the last bits from Borneo. Took a day off to recover from climbing that beast of a mountain and then took a night bus down to Semporna. Not known as one of the nicer places in Borneo and arriving at 4am probably wasn't my best idea. But after a couple of hours kip onto the boat to Sipidan. Known as one of the best sites in the world and didn't disappoint. Passed Mabul on the way also, cool houses. Before we even got into the water we could see turtles swimming round the boat! Beautiful weather aswell, been a while since I'd seen proper sun. Been raining most days the rest of my ... read more
