Just one day in Savannakhet so decided to make the most of it. Although in fact the early start wasn't really necessary as this may be large in Laos terms but not that big, and not a vast amount to see. Started with a coffee in a cafe overlooking the Mekong river and then toured the 'sights'. I started with the Dinosaur museum, which only had 2 rooms but quite an amazing collection of finds, or which they are very proud. I then passed a Buddhist temple when they were making Buddhas (casting and painting) in the grounds which was quite surreal Even more so because also there was a school for the novices. Geo: 16.4958, 105.756Up with the alarm at 05:00 ready for an early start.It is still very dark but by 06:00 when we are ready to leave ikt is getting light although still pretty fresh. Stop en-route to Phon Thong for a photo of the sun rising over the rice fields, lovely sight. I drop Jai off at the bus station then go and leave the bike on the other side of town. When I get back to the station there are no buses around at all. n overnight bus from Rayong, down south, arrives on its way to Mukdahan but wont let us on as they say there are not allowed to steal customers from the local companies. Geo: 16.4958, 105.756Dnes nám končí platnost víz a tak s tím musíme něco udělat. Marťa si je jede prodloužit do Salavanu a já jdu zkusit možnost prodloužení tady. Pokud to neůjde, udělám si výlet do Thajska a zpět a koupím nová víza. Po čase snídaní tedy vyrážím na místní provinční úřad. Nacházím ho poměrně snadno. U informací se ptám na víza a slečna mě odvádí ke dveřím nad nimiž je napsáno "Passports". Ptám se tedy zde. Geo: 16.4958, 105.756Ráno se probouzim spontáně ještě chvilku před budíkem a jsem jím za pár minut překvapen. Myslel jsem, že nemůžu spát a ono je už ráno. Super. Zatím nikdo nebudí, tak ještě ležím ve spacáku, ale za chvilku vyráží týpek z chajdy a někam běží, že by ranní jogging? Možná jen záchod. Každopádně za chvilku se vrací a překvapivě do mě ani nešťouchá. Slib je slib tak i přes jakýsi vnitřní odpor vstávám, balím věci, loučím se a pomalu vyrážím.
