Which island to spend 2-4 days?

Hey all, I'm soon venturing into Laos from Cambodia and first stop will the be islands of Si Phan Don. I'm divided about where to stay, Don Khong or Don Det/Don Khon. Is there a significant difference? I'm just looking for a quaint place to relax a few days, but also hope to have some light sightseeing available and easily meet some other travelers to help pass the time if poss.

Anyone who has been there or know a decent amount about the area have any preference?

I stayed on Don Khon a couple of months ago and had a great time. I can't speak for the other two islands but from what I heard from other travellers Don Khong is the most developed and the least attractive, Don Det is the really hedonistic backpacker one and Don Khon is the more chilled out with the most to see.

We stayed at a place called Pan's Guesthouse and it was pretty cool. We had some good food, walked through some rice fields to a gorgeous waterfall and just chilled out by the water. Personally I love it but if you want something more crazy then maybe Don Det is for you.
