Adhe's brothers' have a clothes shop, Suicide Anthem ( www.suicide-anthem.com) and so wanted me to pose in some of their clothes for their next adversting campaign.. Her twin brothers' run the shop and were very sweet so it was quite fun. They'd planned the scene as the holding up of a supermarket. We spent quite a long time in the supermarket trying many diff poses... Apparently Madi discovered afterwards that he'd had his camera on the wrong setting so none of the photos are perfect, oh well!! Prob the fact that I'm v unphotogenic doesn't help (yes I do realise the camera never lies...) But their whole attaraction with White skin seems to get them past that. It's the complete opp of western culture here. It is beautiful for women especially to be as white as ... read more

"The Guide Who Loved Me..." Woke up this morning to a text from Patrick. Turns out that now his in love with me, the message was quite sweet, I let him down gently...at least now I know that his not to attack me...think I will still barricade my door though. Anyhow after some pancakes we set off for Bena. Its one of the most traditional villages left in Flores. The village is only actually 19km away but it took well over an hour to get there. The road if you can call it that was horrendous! sandy, full of holes, really really steep and really slippery!. I was hanging onto that bike for dear life! On the way down we saw this guy walking, he had got off his guides motorbike and was making his way ... read more

Koh Samui to Bangkok Thailand is a beautiful country and though surrounded by countries that have a European colonial past, has never iteself been clonised, which makes the warm welcome they give to Westerners more gratifying, and free of shame.Their Royal family is revered and when I read about the king's attitudes and his stress on the importance of sustainability, I can understand why. He is the longest sereving monarch in the world, (since 1948) and his current ailing health worries a lot of the Thais. This morning we left Koh Samui and took the ferry back to the mainland and on to Songkhla near the border with Malaysia. Wonderful hotel - comfortable bed, clean soft sheets and rooftop pool where afew of us had a late lunch. Wonderful sunset too, I have a picture of ... read more

So, today was my last day here on Trawangan. I've had a great time and hope that one day I'll make it back. I'm a little quieter than usual tonight. Tired, hungry and ready to go meet up with Scotty and Tristen. Crys and Keira do their own thing and I do mine, so some contact from like-minded people will be good for me. My dives were all fantastic, and I'm now an Advanced Open Water Diver. Its great, I can dive anywhere in the world! In the course their are about 15 different topics and you pick and dive 5 of them. We started with Deep Diving and went on to do Navigation, Night Diving, Underwater Naturalist and Digital Photography. I managed to get some great shots on the last day with Bruno's camera and ... read more

Kelimutu to Bajawa... Rose early this morning, wasn't too awkward with Patrick...if anything he was being overly nice..I should think so too! Anyway we went to Kelimutu this morning, its a volcano that has 3 different coloured lakes, which change colour. I got some good pictures of the lakes, one is dark green, one is chocolate brown and the other is blue-green, kind of reminded me of toothpaste. They don't really look like lakes, almost looks like someone has painted them! Patrick told me a story about a guy who threw himself into the chocloate lake a few years ago. The police tried to get the body out, but before they could, it sank! ugh! And another time a Dutch couple were on their honeymoon, they got up there before sunrise and the guy told his ... read more

Praise the Lord...I've found God in Ahuwair, Flores" You won't believe this but this morning I went to church!...no I haven't found God, Ina invited me and I couldn't really say no...of course I didn't understand a thing!. It was OK though, but I do tend to switch off in churches and found myself uncontrollably nodding off! how embarressing...plus I was sweating like a pig! I have decided I was being silly about my guide. I was talking to a Spanish guy today and he says its quite safe and by far the best way to travel through Flores. So today Patrick and I set off for Moni, a good 3-4 hours away...but 5 hrs with stops on the way. First stop Wuring Village, this is a muslim fishing village and the people are all from ... read more

Antar att ... read more

Recently back from a trip to Derawan it’s a pain to get to but worth the effort. Arrived in Indonesia by our usual route to Jakarta taking the Air Asia flight to Balikpapan the next day booked well in advance and costing only about 200000Rp a bargain for sure. Took a taxi to Samarinda 200,000 Rp locals said we were being ripped off but not to badly it did take 2.5 hours to get to. Taxi driver said Samarinda not like Balikpapan Samarinda broken. This is because Balakpapan has lots of Expats and oil money. We went there to sort out a trip to Kutai National park on the way back, we had no problems meeting up with guides by the way though they wanted around 1.5 million for a 2 day trip including all transport ... read more

Si la réponse à ces questions est non, alors be ready for the time of your life.

"Mow Ke Mana?.... Woke up this morning to the sound of the waves - awesome!. I feel like a right heffer in my hut - I'm tip toeing round the place, otherwise I am convinced I'm going to fall through the floor...not that there is really anywhere to tiptoe, its about 1 step from the bed to the window and 2 steps from the bed to the door. I took a walk down the beach, ever seen cows, goats and pigs on a beach? well I have. There was this strange pig like animal with a really long nose, like an ant eater??! I took a pic, answers on a postcard please... I'm also feeling quite proud of myself, today I had my first conversation in Bahasa (the national language). Only consisted of a couple of ... read more
