Hello everyone, I'm now in Adelaide, we flew down on Friday from Alice springs and were pleasently surprised when we got free sandwiches on our flight little things make us very happy especially when its free or cheap food (hence the reason theres a sponge cake in a bag by my feet- only $2 (less than a pound) and it will last at least 2 meals-bargain!!). Anyway yep we're here in Adelaide, nice little place, tree lined streets and old buildings. It is a little chilly though!! I've had to invest in some shoes that actually cover my toes as i only had my boots and i think melbourne is going to be just as cold!! Getting back to my blog title...have you guessed where we've been....yep wine tasting we went to the Barossa valley ... read more

Hi Guys Yep we are in Adelaide now. Its ok here but i am biting my nails to get to New Zealand. I have bought my ski jacket and have seen a cool pair of trousers i want. Anyway lots has happened since my last blog. Monday evening in Melbourne was spent with the stars of Neighbours. I had an awesome night and got pictures of Dr Karl, Madge, Dylan and Cindy. Karl was singing with his band and there was a quiz. The night was really fun. A few days later we went on a day trip along the Great Ocean road. It was fantastic. Thankfully the weather held out. The scenery was amazing with rolling green hills on the right and sheer drops into the ocean on the left. Had another great day. ... read more

Hi to All! Well, we've done it - finally tied the knot! Thanks to all our family and friends for helping us celebrate the most amazing day of our lives last Saturday. Word's truely can't describe how perfect it was. We had the perfect weather, the perfect locations, and we're perfectly happy. (How sickening for you to read!) Honestly, we have absolutley no complaints, only to say that the day went by way too quickly and we wish we could have partied on the whole weekend (although Kate's feet might have thought otherwise!). Thanks to our photographers and our family and friends we have hundreds of photos and several hours of video to be able to always remember that day. But as for now, we are in the throws of packing up our house to ... read more

Day 1 started a little slowly but we finally got on the road about 10am. We had forgotten one thing but remembered it in time to turn around and quickly duck home and grab it….with minimal whingeage from the navigator. We watched the storm clouds gather around us the whole way and got hit with a huge storm just out of Pimba. Had to slow right down to about 40km/hour as we could not see in front of us. Got some great shots of sunset as the storms came in and the sun got lower. We hit a seriously strong head wind nearly all the way, which made the going a bit slower and killed our fuel economy. With the Kamper on the back, our fuel economy is down about 25%, further reduced by the headwind ... read more

Well blog addicts, it’s been a very long time since your last hit so we apologise for this. However, the main reason for this is the lack of stuff to write about. But here goes…… Allow me to cast your minds back to our last blog. We’d just returned from Uluru and were in the lovely, welcoming town (read: ghetto) that is Alice Springs. While in Alice we ventured down to the old Overland Telegraph station which linked the North and South of this vast country for the first time and then enjoyed a walk back along the very dry river which had cars driving through it and kids sitting in the middle - apparently it does have water in it sometimes! We also went to the Royal Flying Doctors Service museum, which was really ... read more

Kangaroo Island From Adelaide we did a one day trip to Kangaroo island, used to be inhabited by many kangaroos. Now there are more koalas. So many that the government started birth control and sterilisation programmes to reduce the number of koalas. So we saw koalas, kangaroos, walaby's and seals. The coastline was also nice and the remarkable rocks, so called for their funny shapes. We vertrekken ... read more

On Wednesday I caught my flight out of Perth for Adelaide. The actual flight to Adelaide doesn't usually take that long, but I'd booked a ticket with a stop over in Melbourne. This added an extra 4 hours to the time it could have taken so I rocked up in Adelaide at about 9pm. Managed to find a shuttle bus, I was the only one on it and I got a guided tour from the driver who was pretty cool. Met up with Rob and spent the next couple of days checking out the city, overall there wasn't a lot to do but it's a nice city. On Thursday I found out that I got the scholarship I was after in Newcastle, was pretty chuffed about that as it means I won't have to worry ... read more

Well, the clock's-a-ticking and there is heaps left to do. I guess going fishing last Sunday when Amanda had lined up a whole heap of work on the Kamper and Prado, wasn't such a good idea. Not to worry, while the water was a bit rough, any day fishing is better than any day helping the wife organise the Kamper. Opened up the Kimberley Kamper for the first time last weekend, since before Easter and everything was mouldy from moisture. I wonder if having the beast on the back lawn next to the sprinklers was such a good idea, but too late now. At least we are getting some of the wet stuff from the heavens and the Kamper is getting cleaned every so often, daily at the moment. Damn near forgotten what that wet stuff ... read more

Finally the rain came and the week after we headed to the hills to see the colours of Autumn. You really can't go past Mt Lofty Botanical gardens - it has a large number of northern hemisphere trees that put on a stunning display - and it aslo includes part of the Heysen trail. You can revisit our last blog about the gardens Apple picking and Mt Lofty Botanical Gardens We saw numerous glimpses of southern brown bandicoots - see pictures scurrying around the place. Rat-like but with short tails. We visited Fern gully - although it took quite a bit of effort to get there - and found it as delightful as ever. This "Dan says..." is a video as he has gone to bed and if I don't get these blogs done now - ... read more
