I love spending time with my students outside of class. Tuesday, I was supposed to be tutoring French, but Angie and Gelda were sick, and Carmen never showed up. Carmen from MY class did show up though just to play and hang out with Sthephany and I. We ended up not doing French (since the other girls would then be behind) and did face masks instead. The girls loved it and we had a good time. The funniest part was that when Carmen and I were washing off our faces (Sthephany was already done) Sthephany asks me for my e-mail address. I ask her why, and come out of the bathroom to see her filling out some online dating profile for me. Apparently she clicked on the ad that came up beside her e-mail account for ... read more

We decided to head for a river crossing into Guatemala so headed from Frontera Corazal to Bethel in a half hour dash up river. This was a very pretty and romantic trip which then turned into a bit of a nightmare as once on the Guatemala side every stage of the onward jorney ensured that our wallets were emptied to line the local bus driver, immigration officer, tour organiser and almost everyone esles pockets..... This has been something of a running joke for us over the last two weeks with all travel costing about 3 times what it should no matter what bartering you try! Finally we have seen the light and have found that private tourist shuttles (which we loath because of the big TURISMO signs on the side) are the best and oftern cheapest ... read more

Buenos! I am writing to you from Naco. It is a small village outside of Cofradia, Honduras. We arrived monday night and are staying in this village untill next Monday. Currently, I reside with the Hernandez´s. Its a grand time. I have four beautiful sisters and one adorable brother. This is actually the first time I have been alone since I arrived. We really enjoy one anothers company. When I arrived to Honduras, the first thing we did was jump in the back of a pickup truck with all our bags. Sandwiched between Aaron and Elizabeth, I shouted over the rumble of the highway "I think I like Honduras best!" They laughed becuase we had only been in country for 10 miniutes. The feeling stayed, I do like Honduras best. Out of the three countries we ... read more

You all get a run down of my study into Personal Freedom by means of being a slacker for 5 plus months. November 15th- Patience 101-Intro to nirvana I get my squeaky clean ass to the airport, my flight was leaving at 1130. Im flying, and sitting next to some old folks with CHARACTER! By the end of the flight I knew about their bathroom habits (OH HOW WONDERFUL, Your medication gives you the runs!), I knew about all their kids, grandkids, cats, jobs, and any other random details you could squeeze into 5 hours. My 2 hour flight to Houston took 5 hours because of high winds (I think that means strong winds, not stoned air). We had to land in Austin, and re-fuel, and sit on our throbbing, sore asses for 2.3 hours. Just ... read more

Fact: El Salvador is the smallest country in Central America there is a total of 11 volcanoes and the states here are called departments. I was reading the newspaper a few days ago and the stats claim that if your male between the ages of 19-35 regardless of where your from your at a 70% chance of being killed by the gangs here in the major cities of El Salvador. When I first arrived my aunts husband was waiting for me at the airport and took me straight to my moms cousins place thats right in the capital city. We stay here everytime we come because my only uncle lives in the state of Sonsonate which is 2 hours away on bus. I didnt leave the first few days for fear that I would shit myself ... read more

K folks jsut to let u know I"m still alive and well. Enjoying the relaxed prices (at least compared to where I've beem) and am enjoying tons of fresh fruit and dirt cheap fish (not to mention beer). So yeah things are alright. I hit up some canyoning yesterday which was a blast. Maybe not as hardcore as Switzerland but some serous repells. One was like 150 feet from a suspension bridge. It kicked ass. Not too shabby, and the fact that the waterfall went through a hardcore rainforest was amazing. Absoluely loved it. SO heading out to a horse farm tomorrow to relax and meet some people. Hopefully learn a little more spanish. Telling girls they look good won;t get me that far. LOL. Maybe once I gt back I'll attempt to laod some picks. ... read more
