I will love it. I am sure of that. 😊
After all the years of travel and all the countries I have visited, India is still my favourite. I wish I was going for a few month instead of a few weeks.... Well, if I am lucky I might get to go back there next Spring for a third visit. 😊 Reply to this

Hi Everyone!
my name's Fiona and I'm currently planning my round the world trip departing in Feburary next year. I've been looking through some of these forums already before signing up and have already gotten loads of advice - thanks! Looking forward to writing my own blog - though I doubt it'll be half as good as some on here -- some pure talent is going on on this site!

Hello all!!
After a long travel break, I am going to kick things off by teaching english in Japan in the spring (ECC). I began my travels in London in 1997, then when I graduated from college, I took a six weeks backpacking trip around Europe. Since then I have done a four month trip (one month making my way from NYC to Hawaii, then three months in Australia), several UK trips, another Oz trip, another Europe trip, and some US travel, including two Formula One Grands Prix (Indy and Spa-Francorchamps). I am blessed to have a lot of international friends, and free military air 'hops' that make my budget go a lot further.

I love to travel, and have tried (unsuccessfully so far!) to break away and live or work abroad. The timing wasn't right, but now it is, and I am off in the spring for what I am sure is just the beginning. I have friends in Russia I have yet to visit, and lots more countries and experiences on my list! I must say my favorite place all in all is the UK, I have several friends there, and it is the one place I feel completely at home. I am from Austin, Texas, but am of UK descent, and from the first time I went there, I "make sense" there. I to it and it to me. My best friend starts at Inverness College in the fall, so I'll be sure to be going back to Scotland soon!

I have a bunch of my travel photos over at webshots, but you don't get much of a chance to talk about your trip. I may convert a lot of that stuff over here, before I forget half the stuff I did! 😊 I am already beginning to.

Glad to be here! Reply to this

Welcome to TravelBlog Elspeth and Pongsakorn 😊

Pongsakorn, we are happy to have you to answer questions about Thailand but please do not post promotional links or ask people for 50 USD for taxis. Promotional posting is against the forum rules. If you want you can put this information in your profile.

Welcome to TravelBlog Bappy 😊

It will be easy to get a taxi into the city when you arrive in Bangkok. Just go outside the airport doors and take one of the ones out there. Be sure to ask the driver to switch on the meter. Otherwise it will cost more. Also make sure it is one of the ones outside the airport and not the ones you can book inside. Those are more expensive. You could head straight to the Khao San Road. All taxi drivers will know where that is. There are lots of agencies on the Khao San Road offering tours. Also there are lots of backpackers to hang out with in that area.

If you want to find a travel companion before you go or even somebody to meet up with for a drink you could post in the following forum.

Looking for travel companions.

Hi everyone!

My name is Alan and I'm planning a 6 month trip with my girlfriend. We're starting in the US and heading to Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Egypt, Jordan, and Europe.

I've been reading up on the around the world RTW tickets but have also read that it's cheaper to buy flights as you go. I want to keep things as cheap as I can. Maybe I could start in the UK then go from there since flights are cheaper there.

Any ideas? Reply to this

My name is Cody, I'm an American and I enjoy long walks on the beach. Wait, wrong forum, haha. I think wanderer is a good description for myself.

I arrived in Scotland on a work visa at the beginning of this year but am living in Rotterdam at the moment. I've been trying to see as many places as possible on my non-existent budget and so far everything's been great. I don't know how long I'll stay in Europe but it's whet my appetite for more adventure.

I probably won't be blogging as I already have one on another site but I plan to stay active in the forums. I'd love nothing more than to help fellow wanderers!

Hello all, my name is Terysa and I joined travelblog about 10 minutes ago! I'm doing a month long trip to Thailand in 5 weeks, but my main focus at the moment is my trip next year- I'm looking at leaving in July and travelling through China, SEA, and South America for 6-8 months, although as with everyone, I'm a slave to my bank account so it may be a bit shorter.
I live in Adelaide, Australia and have only done a small amount of travelling before- a student exchange in Norwich, UK a couple of years ago and I managed to have a bit of a look around western Europe and some of England while I was there.
Expect to see me asking lots of dumb questions on the forums- will start my travel blog next year when I go away (well, I might do a practice one on Thailand first... haven't decided yet).

Cheers,
Terysa Reply to this
