Your plans sound fantastic! In February we take a two week cruise to the islands of the eastern Caribbean. In April or May we plant to visit Poland, Slovakia, Romania, and Hungary on the trail of ancestors. During the summer we will likely visit our kids again...CA, NJ, and CT. Reply to this

Bob,

Your 2024 travel plans are awesome. I'll be especially eager to read your blogs about Poland, Slovakia, Romania, and Hungary as that part of the world is on our short list.

I'm glad you will have time to visit the kids.
What islands will you visit while in the Caribbean?

In response to: Msg #210899 I've been planning my Eastern Europe trip for several years, but life just seemed to get in the way. I hope this year it works out. I've already written the background for my blog on the trip...perhaps that is bringing bad luck! As for the Caribbean, we will visit the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Saint Kitts/Nevis, St. Martin/Maarten, and the British Virgin Islands. This will take me to over 100 countries. Reply to this

My plans have already gone up in smoke, literally. I was planning Jordan, Israel, Palestine and surrounding countries but given the current situation that's not going to happen so I'm back to looking at maps. Reply to this

In December/January I will travel independently to Taiwan and in February/March I will take a guided tour to whole Indochina (Vietnam, Laos, Kambodia) which will bring my total visited countries well above 60. Later in September/October I will go to the Netherlands and Belgium and maybe in between to Czech Republic, Austria and Italy. As my home country Germany lies at the center of Europe these visits are quite easy and by car or train. Reply to this

As planned, we thinking about a trip to the USA for the 2024 trip. It offers diverse landscapes, vibrant cultures, and historical landmarks, making it a dream destination for many travelers.

National Park Immersion:

Yosemite National Park, California: Enjoying hiking and marvel at Yosemite Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in the world.
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming: Experience geothermal wonders like geysers, hot springs, and mudpots. Go wildlife watching for bison, elk, and grizzly bears.
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona: Hike or bike along the rim for breathtaking views of the canyon's colorful layers, or take a mule ride down into the depths.

Urban Adventures:

New York City, New York: Immerse yourself in iconic landmarks like the Empire State Building, Times Square, and Broadway shows. Explore diverse neighborhoods for a taste of global cuisines and cultural experiences.
New Orleans, Louisiana: Experience the vibrant music scene, delicious Creole and Cajun cuisine, and unique architecture in the French Quarter. Join a Mardi Gras celebration if your travels coincide with the festivities.
Los Angeles, California: Explore the world of Hollywood, visit iconic theme parks, and relax on the beaches of Santa Monica and Malibu. Take a day trip to explore the scenic beauty of coastal California.

Unique Experiences:

Road trip along the California Coast: Cruise down Highway 1, stopping at charming towns, scenic beaches, and iconic landmarks like Hearst Castle. Enjoy breathtaking ocean views and the laid-back California vibes.
Alaska Cruise: Witness awe-inspiring glaciers, majestic mountains, and diverse wildlife of Alaska from the comfort of a cruise ship. Go whale watching, explore charming towns, and experience the unique culture of the Last Frontier.

he wanderlust is already kicking in! It's still early days, but I'm tossing around a few ideas. Thinking of finally ticking off the bucket list - heard it's otherworldly in the spring. Also toying with a off-roading through safari desert dubai. What about you? Anything brewing for the new year? Reply to this
