Has anyone had experience traveling in Ireland without renting a car? Car rental seems to be very expensive. Reply to this

Yes, I travelled from Belfast - Dublin - Naas - Cork - Kinsale - Dublin without a car. I found Ireland's trains and busses super easy to use. Once you're settle in a location, you can also see a lot on foot. We were lucky with the weather though (I know that's rare for Ireland!). I'm not sure how much walking you could do if it was raining constantly. I recommend travelling there during summer to make getting around a little easier. Reply to this

Yes, I have been to Ireland without renting a car and it was great. It wasn't as easy to get around as it would have been with a car, but it wasn't super hard either. I used trains and buses and sometimes taxis if I really needed it. Reply to this

Don't worry, there's alternate option also. Like travelling in train is generally a comfortable way to see Ireland. Or else Uber is also there. Reply to this

There are plenty of alternatives, including using public transportation like trains and buses, taxis, and joining guided tours. Reply to this

Fopr Newgrange and Rock of Kashel you probably need a car. But for Dublin alone (where I stayed) and eventually a trip to Belfast by train, to see Northern Ireland, you don't need a car. Reply to this
