Hi there everyone, I love travelling .. alone usually, so that I can be free to go where ever I want and I can freely meet new people. I've been to Japan thrice ... just love the place. Reply to this

Hi all, I'm new to travelblog 😊
I've been coming to this site for about a month now and I am addicted :D hehe
I'm Tam and I'm from Australia. My family and I are planning to travel to USA in October 2009, to me it seems so far away. I am so excited. We are only in the very early stages of planning, basically just trying to get the money together. My daughter, who is going to be 3 in a couple of months is so excited to go to Disneyland, it's all she can talk about. I'm starting to think I probably shouldn't have told her about our holiday just yet because she asks daily when we are going lol. We want to go to quite a few different states, go from Australia to L.A. and then hire a car and travel for a month, hopefully ending up in NY, but who knows, I don't even know if it is doable. It's going to cost a lot but it will be sooo worth it. I've only been overseas once and that was to New Zealand 4 years ago.

I'm glad I joined, I love looking at peoples blogs and browsing the forum 😊 Reply to this

Welcome to TravelBlog Tam. 😊

It is nice to have another parent joining. I used to think I am one of the few parents who travel. I since discovered that there are lots more here on TravelBlog. Reply to this

Hi I'm Sea,

I've always loved going to new places and seeing what's out there.

The places I have been to are...

All over India - The Taj Mahal is a must see for anyone wanting to be inspired! My god it bought me to tears because it was so beautiful, Goa too, Wow, I want to live there!

Los Angeles - California, I loved this place too, everyone was so nice and friendly, another place I would consider living!

Dubai - Wow wow wee wa! This definitely is a place that you can get lost in. It is so beautiful yet so bizarre at the same time. I loved my stay here and got to see so much, Gold Souqie, Mall of Emirates (biggest mall in the world!) all the absolutely wonderful buildings and some really nice people. Don't think I could live in the desert heat though!

Malta - Little island. Was lovely but very expensive. I did enjoy my stay here though. You must visit the Blue Lagoon.

Italy - I have been to a few places, Rome was beautiful, just history everywhere, stunning! Also Sicily, you must go on a tour to see Mount Etna, it was all smokey and smelly when we went, thought we were going to die cause it was rumbling and stuff! WOO!

France - Paris was nice, as was Disneyworld! HAHA!

Lots of places around the UK my home country. Liverpool was cool, as was Manchester, but i love Bournemouth Beach and Dorset and Cornwall! Croyde bay was lovely, learnt to surf! As was Falmouth, what a wonderful place! I've also been to Scarborough, with the 365 grand hotel. Bizzare hotel! 365 rooms, 52 mini towers, 12 floors, 4 big towers, in a V shape to represent Queen Victoria... anyone guess those numbers? 365 days in the year, 52 weeks in a year, 12 months in a year, 4 seasons! It represents time and is amazing.

I can't really remember anywhere else I've been...

The places I would like to go to are:

Maldives
Australia
New Zealand
Other parts of America
Hawaii (just to look at a Volcano again!)
Iceland
Norway (both to see the Northern Lights!)
Canada

That's all I can think of.

:o)

Hi all! My name is Josh. I live in the UK. I've always thought I needed to travel before I settled down to a career, so I thought I'd combine both! Going to Western Australia in January to teach! Could be a permanent move, or a temporary one. I'll decide when I get there. 😊 Reply to this

Hi Everyone...I am very new to this site. I have a lot of friends that are on here and I have heard great things. I am at the very beginning stages of travelling. I know I want to travel and i have deferred for my year of University to travel but that is as far as I have made it. I need suggestions like CRAZY on what to do. haha. I guess what I'm asking is...where do I start? I lack the support from family and close friends so this is what brings me here. Any and all advice will be appreciated. Thanks! Reply to this

Welcome to TravelBlog Jessica 😊

Many of us here know what it is like to not be supported by friends and family about our passion for travel.

Here is a forum for those who are new to independent travel to ask your questions like how to cope with the critisisms of family and friends and how does a person become a traveller.... And of course there are the other forums for the more country specific questions about travelling to help you with your planning and reasearch.

Hi everyone,

I've been posting on the forum but I thought i'd introduce myself right now!

My name is Sam, I'm 21 and from the east coast of the United States. I have one more semester of College left and then I'm off to South America for 5 months (at the least!) to find my calling in life and explore the world. My only experiences outside of the country include a 1-week trip to Mexico and a 2-week excursion to Israel and Jordan. I caught the travel bug after visiting the Middle East and I think I'll never quit.

My preferred travel style is certainly the low-cost, hostel/couchsurfing/working covertly with very little time spent at tourist destinations. I love meeting new people, hearing people's stories and understanding how the rest of the world lives. It is my goal to get a better understanding of what makes humans human, and how we can all continue to coexist on this rapidly shrinking planet.

I'm an avid photographer and writer, and I intend to use both skills to contribute to this site once I leave. Until then, I'll be contributing to the community and learning everything I can about travel. Hope to meet all of you eventually!

What a great site My name is Don and I've been lurking on TB for a few months now and have become a junkie to the site. My wife and I have traveled quite a bit in our 12yrs of marrage (I'M 40 and Ds 35) We just sold 1 of our bussiness and are thinking about selling the other, the house and hitting the road. We have no kids so there's not much keeping us in Mn. ( 6 months of winter gets oooold ) Any pro's and con's about "leaving it all" would be great. $$$ hopefully wont be a problem, just the fear of the unknown and getting off our butts and doing it. I look forward to being part of this site and will keep you posted of our plans. *Anyone loking to buy a house and biz in Mn* JK

Hi Don,

Welcome to TravelBlog.

I wouldn't label "heading into the unknown" as a problem - that's part of the excitement :-)
Sounds like you're in a really good position to hit the road - get out there and make the most of it!! Reply to this

Hello!
I just signed up today, ive just graduated from a three year degree and this is the first time i have the freedom to do and go everever i want. I will be traveling by myself as my girlfriend is going to Essex to study acting. I want to go somwhere that will give me perspective and help to figure out what i want out of life. I was thinking about Thailand or maybe Tibet as they seem like beautiful places that retain a more simple way of life, Id love to talk to anyone whos been to these places or has any suggestions or is in a similar situation to myself.

Hello, how are you Mell? This website is most fascinating. I've visited a lot of different states in North America and have been to a few faraway places - the last state that I've visited is Missouri because I went to Branson last year with some family members (it seems that in my town Branson is a very popular place to vacation). The farthest place that I've been to is Swansea, Wales. Have you heard the term "staycation"? It's been used all over the news - if you stay home this year you're on staycation, but if you leave home for a trip then you're on vacation - that's pretty clever huh? I joined the TravelBlog Community just today and I can tell that I'll be visiting this website a lot in the future. I have to go; because of the humidity my nose has been stopped up for weeks!
