I would have to say that my visit to Mt. Lofty Summit and Cleland Wildlife Park were the highlight of my week. Mt Lofty Summit was incredible. It was only a quick ten-minute stop on the way to Cleland but it was all I needed to take in the breathtaking views of Adelaide. I really did not realize how very close I live to the ocean. I am surrounded by water! As you look through the pictures you might want to note that I live in the upper right hand corner of the city. What an amazing place to liveā€¦ Mt. Lofty and Cleland are only a 30 minute bus ride outside of the city and definitely worth the trip. Cleland was quite different from my experience at the zoo. I actually fed kangaroos and mingled ... read more

Well, it's a new day, and Kat has received some new job offers. Not only do I have a job offer from Vietnam, which were covered in past post, but I also just today received a job offer from Cambodia. The problem here is that although I am thrilled to have received these offers, and would lurve to work and live in both Vietnam or Cambodia for some time, the pay is rather bad. Well, for living in Cambodia or Vietnam the pay is very good, but taking into account that I will have to repay a quite hefty student loan at home as well as owing money hither and tither it is not really doable. Which do kill me!!!! And of course, I am in some dialouges with a couple of diveshops in the Philippines, ... read more

Well our Contiki tour started early yesterday morning and boy was it early! It was kind of sad leaving "Beached at Bondi", I was starting to get used to the place. It sucked leaving the people we had gotten so close too. I would of never thought that I would get so close to the people we did, expecially the first two people we met in the airport. There arent so many guys on this trip ... 40 girls and 10 guys. Our tour guide is John and he is fricken awesome! And Gary is our bus driver (he's a riot!) It sucks though because I usually get on better with the opposite sex than my own. I'm not too sure why but I think it is because I feel more like myself, girls are so ... read more

Today I have stopped. Not stopped anything in particular. Just stopped. As in being still. Looking at the planes in the sky and dream of getting on one of them. I think the girls in the travel agency thinks I am a bit of a sad nutcase. Every week I come in and ask for a price to a different destination. Sometimes I come by several times within the same week. I think they think I will never get anywhere. But they are WRONG. Sometime soon I will also be flying through the sky. To foreign lands and all that.... read more

The last few days have been quite interesting... that's for sure. Last time I wrote, Michelle and I ended up going to bed super early that night because we were completely exhausted. We woke up early the next morning and grabbed some breakfast at the bakery. Sean (our friend from Ireland) came and met up when he woke up and then we decided to Venture out to Manly Beach to meet up with Brandon and Derek. We stopping in the city so Michelle could cash in some travellers cheques. Then we headed to the Wharf to take this ferry over to Manly. It only cost around 6 AUD. The view of the harbour was nothing shot of spectacular. When we finally got to Manly, the guys were wating for us. So we all sat down and ... read more

I know I haven't written back sooner but we've been super busy and I am a really good procrastinator. So.. here's the scoop... We arrived early Sunday morning and around 6am. We met up with the two guys we met in the Honolulu airport (Brandon & Derek). They are both from Ottawa. They decided to come to the same hostel as us because ours sounded better that theirs! And an Australian we also met same Bondi was safer than Kings Cross. Haha! So, we found the shuttle pretty quickly (it cost us each 10AUD) but the stupid shuttle driver dropped us off at the wrong place (but we didn't notice until after he already drived away! Luckily for us, an Australian girl (around our age) gave us a ride to our place. It was a super ... read more
