The Adelaide Oval is a beautiful cricket ground. Unfortunately where we were sitting in the Chappell Stands, it was absolutely freezing. A good day for England though, winning the toss and batting all day!... read more

Ah, home and back to work to find that no, nothing really changes. (Which basically means now it's back to saving money to pay for the next trip- wherever that may be.) A big congratulations to all 8 of my friends who have added to their families in the time I have been away. Also, I hope everyone here at home and all those overseas and still travelling had a fantastic xmas and new year. Haven't had time to upload the funny engrish signs I found in China but for those interested you can also look up www.engrish.com for some more. Mostly funny, some just plain weird although i'm sure my chinese translations would be a lot worse. My favourite- that of course I didn't manage to get a photo of- was at the 'Big Wild ... read more

Arrived in Adelaide having flown via Sydney. Internal flights in Oz are pretty hassle-free which is good. Met up with Geeth and Helen in thier hostel. Went for a Thai meal in the 'seedy' area of Adelaide. It's a pretty strange place to be honest.... read more

God oplevelse. Arrived in Adelaide from my tour down from Alice Springs. First few days I literally spent sleeping off the previous 5 day tour. Was so tired, that all I could muster up was the strength to do my washing (everything was orange from the rocks) and watch the Arsenal match at 4am. Before I knew it 2 nights had passed and it was time for my second tour, of Kangaroo Island and Adelaide. The first day I was picked up at 10am and we toured the city of Adelaide, a very attractive city with parks all around it which really adds to the attraction. We drove up to Mount Lofty, a vantage point from which to view the city. Then it was on to kangaroo Island. A 1 hour ferry ride and we arrived just before ... read more

We leave on Sunday. The train takes a long time to get there. We arrive Tuesday morning at 9:10, and we go straight to the Workstay office. From there, they might send us out right away, or we might need to stay in a hostel for the night. Either way though, we're going. My communication will probably be very limited while I'm there, but I'll keep a journal and post it all when I get back. Ohhh, I can't wait!!!... read more

Hi Everyone, There are officially only 18 more sleeps left until we fly out (Heath has 39!) so this is my final 'test' message to get the travel blog started for our adventure to Thailand. While we are away we will be posting a blog of where we are at, what adventures we have been getting up to and also some (hopefully) great photos! Your email addresses have all been added to our subscription list (either by me or you!), which means when we post a new blog, TravelBlog will email you with a link to the new diary (like it did with this one!). Alot of you may have received our blog about the Blue Mountains but since a few more people have subscribed and so I just want to make sure its all set ... read more

English I ... read more

Sorry I haven't written anything in awhile. I've been working for the past 6 days, and I've been so tired. Danielle and I might be going elsewhere for awhile before Christmas. Danielle is having a problem finding work, and Adelaide is rather boring. We're thinking about finding work on a cattle station in the outback. I'm gonna make a phone call tomorrow and see how we would go about this. I think being a Jillaroo would be fun! Well...at least for a little while. Umm...ya. Not much going on. I'm sort of picking up the lingo here already. I say 'heaps' a lot (like, "thats heaps funny," or "its heaps good,"). I haven't started saying 'reckon' yet, but I'm thinking it, so its really only a matter of time. I say dodgy and shifty with an ... read more
