Introduction The Sunday family fun day activity for this week was on a Monday, and was chosen by Dan - a walk around the Adelaide zoo. The zoo is located on Frome Road close to the city centre of Adelaide. We parked our car on the northern side of the zoo and walked along the linear pathway that runs along the River Torrens towards Frome road. Decorating the entrance was a giant inflated gorilla that was drawing crowds into the zoo on a mild Adelaide cup day holiday Monday. The gorillas were only visiting for 7 months - but it was the first time there have ever been gorillas at the Adelaide zoo. We arrived about one and had our picnic lunch in the central part of the zoo where there were free flying macaws. Dan ... read more

Woke in Whyalla. Farewell Lee. Here a public and personal thanks for a great trip. Drove on very hot day to Port Adelaide. Found Yacht Club and shower. Went there. Rundle St, center of Adelaide life. Late afternoon had beer at bar with jazz band. It started to rain. Met a young couple. He's a truck driver. Told my Nullarbor crossing story. Right now, I have 4 more days until my plane leaves for Narita airport in Japan, via Hong Kong and am currently running around like a headless chicken trying to finish all my work, say goodbye to friends, pack and just plainly "get it together" in time beore I leave. Hey everyone..I know it;s been awhile since i wrote on my blog but i guess i just wasn't that inspired... So yeah i've been in Adelaide for 5 days now. It's (again) a very different city from the other ones....Pretty big in distances to walk yet not very populated (1 million only). However, Adelaide is THE festival city....2 running at this moment and another one starting this weekend....Promoting art, music and performances....It's great! Apart from that, Adelaide has a few nice beaches (the water is not that clean though) but we enjoyed it a few days ago. Oh, by the way, this is a note for all of you who might once need Phil to put sunscreen on your back: DON'T ASK HIM to do it :p He didn't really feel like doing it sohe put ... read more

Seriously...I am in total sweet chilli heaven living here. You can buy sweet chilli potato chips and crackers, its served with vertually everything, including our new staple - potato wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. It almost makes it ok that they dont have poutine here. Back to more important issues...We are in Adalaide. Spanky is absolutely golden. I am really impressed with our little purchase. So tonight we are going to a huge wine festival downtown.. The locals tell us we came at just the right time. This should be fun. We have only arrived yesterday so we havent seen too much. Just did some shopping and well, all I can say is that I have a problem and Im not posting how many clothes I bought...:) We are staying in a camp ... read more

Well after the events of the last few weeks visiting wonderful places in Australia, I am off again on Saturday to the wilds of South America! But how is it going to be possible for me to keep up my work in Adelaide? I hear you ask.. Well the lovely Libby has very creatively built me my own TARDIS.. So now I can travel when and where I like and still get back for conferences and to help the staff at Repat Radiology with their social functions - Looking forward to the cruise in March-. Very exciting.. As you can see I held a little social function of my own last weekend. Started fine just kickin back and relaxing but things turned a little wild and I was a very sick little Koala the next day. ... read more
