I managed to make it on to the bus in Noosa with no Brisbane style problems and arrived in Hervey Bay in the afternoon. Explored the delightful Koalas Hostel, very nice. then headed to the briefing for my Fraser Island 4WD safari trip weekend thingy! Id met a girl called Sara on the bus and we ended up in the same group for the trip with Holly who was doing the biking and kayaking with me, her friend Debbie, a couple from London; Paul and Louise (lovely people) then we had a german girl called Hermina and a german boy called Lars....yes I saw the matchmaking potential here too...apparently so did she! then Tommy from Norway, Fred whos swiss and finally Stefan whos lovely and Dutch. Cant wait for the 5am start tomorrow. I ended up ... read more

As the title suggests we finally found Skinny some shoes! Quite a while later we finally found the lagoon too! Its quite small and not as pretty as the others we've been to but it has sand in and around the water, and a ot of sun beaming on it so I'm not complaining!... read more

Today I was very excited! I love theme parks! We drove south an hour to get to Dreamworld, so early it wasn't even open when we got there! The queues weren't so long which was handy. The first ride we went on was called Cyclone, a rollercoaster which was my fav! Got a good picture from it. Went on a few spinny rides and Skinny got sick, so we left her to sleep! Lazy bum! We made sure it was along time after lunch when we went on the worlds largest + fastest ride in the world. It was the wierdest feeling getting up to 160kmh in a second, then going up a vertical tower then back down, was great but couldn't do it again! There were all the usual rides, got soaking on the log ... read more

I was wrong, they didn't advertise it but this hotel has great, free, wifi, so blogging continues. It took a while, but finally found out why Adelaide didn’t work for us. While at an internet cafe in Adelaide (doing the last blog entry), I went outside to have a much needed cigarette break. Then the most astonishing thing happened, I was approached by a young(ish), fit(ish) woman who engaged me in flirtatious conversation. Well, I assumed it was, I’m not much used to that sort of thing, but what gave the game away was the loss of interest that happened immediately after mentioning my wife sitting in the cafe. But before the loss of interest some of the conversation had been about the strange feeling that Barb and I had felt since arriving in Adelaide. She ... read more

Saa skriver jeg mine sidste australske strofer paa denne hjemmeside. Nuvel, jeg fortsaetter nok lidt, naar jeg er hjemme. Der skal vist finpudses hist og pist. 7,5 fantastiske uger rinder ud. Thailand YES - Australien YES - I'm sure I'll be back. Har netop forladt stolen hos Hairdresser Adrienne in Queen Street, saa nu er jeg klar til Mia og Soerens superbryllup i kommende weekend. Er naturligvis ogsaa klar til at go working again, omend jeg nok er at finde somewhere in dreamland for the next months or more.

After Cairns it was back down to Brisbane where we were met by our cousin Dave at the airport around 10.30. It had been a long day for Nick and I but when we arrived we were taken on a tour of Brisbane and went for a quick beer on southbank. Although we were pretty tired we both seemed to miraculously regain energy and by 12.30 we were in a casino!! It was alot of fun and suprisingly rewarding for all of us! It turned out to be a very late night and we ended up driving back to Noosa at 4.30 arriving at around 6.30! For Nick and I Noosa was a very welcome change and it was great to see John, Fred, David and Jess. The house in Cooroy was amazing with very ... read more

Monday 13.03.06 We were up early this morning as the bus was leaving for our canoeing trip at 8am. Slept surprisingly well! Best sleep since we've been away. We (Andy, Derek, Florian and I) got taken to a house where we picked up all our gear (barrels, cookers, tent). Here we met up with the people who booked through a tour company called 'Peterpans'. We were going to book through them but ours was cheaper and you get 2 free nights else where! And we spent the whole trip with them so it was exactly the same yet cheaper!! We paid our ferry taxi fees and loaded up the boat (walking through the water). On the boat was an aboriginal guy called 'water' he was very funny and a little crazy. He took an instant shine ... read more

Well O set off bright and early for my day of extreme excercise. Started on the mountain bikes. down a long road to the bottom of the mountain then on to the good stuff, the forest riding which was like downhill motocross but with out at engine....great position, knees bent, arms stretched, bum out over the back wheel. We were all naturals at sticking our bums out!! tehe. Then on the the water for fun and frolicks in Noosa River. we weren't great at the steering but it was bloody good fun. So that was the legs worked hard on the bikes and the arms worked from paddling. Full work out. But wait theres more to come. Musical delights were offered up by an aussie band called Bordello....lets see how many great songs you can rip ... read more

I bought a pair of shoes that are....ready for it.....huh?huh? Black and white plaid. They are hideous. I love them.... We are on the East Coast - Sunshine coast to be more specific - and miss T and I just registered for a 5 day open water dive course. We are scared and excited all at the same time. The first 2 days are pool and theory and the last 3 days we live on a boat on the Great Barrier Reef and get to enjoy 8 day time dives and 2 night dives. This is going to be absolutely amazing and I cannot wait. We start our theory tomorrow and we will be on the boat on Monday. We will be purchasing an underwater camera as well. Yippeeeeeeee! After this we will be certified to ... read more
