Å en ... read more

Hey guys! Hope everything is good with all of you and you're having better weather then we are - thunder storms, long term rain and even fog out here down under! Both Ed and I are good but need to start packing as tomorrow we head off to even chillier New Zealand, so I'll try to keep this relatively short, but let me talk you through our last few days. On Sunday we followed a walking tour in our guide book (lonely planet is the best) and saw many tourist spots but also found some really cool places you wouldn't usually come across; one being the Rocks market which was amazing. Every time you turned a corner you expected it to end but, by the time we did finally reach the end of the stalls ... read more

The hubby was off to Sydney this time so i figured i'd join him with the Little Man shorly before the Little Miss came along... a bit easier to travel with one child by yourself than two :) So we flew over on a Thursday in July hoping to do some tourist stuff and catch up with the inlaws. We stayed at Goldsborough Oaks Apartments just a few minutes walk from Darling Habour. The location was good and bad...it was a little bit dodgy to be walking around at dark by myself under a trainline and a freeway however it was really less than 5 minutes walk to Darling Harbour and for the price of a 1 bedroom apartment in the inner CBD that was excellent! The apartments themselves was quite interesting as it was an ... read more

So we've discovered McDonald's free internet!! Decided to take a few hours this morning and update the blog and book some buses and hotels. DAY 1-ish - flying, waiting, flying, waiting some more.... basically describes our trip to get over here. The wait in LA was pretty brutal. Spent 9 long hours there. Think the Australia flights are in the most desolate part of that airport. Van airport was way nicer!! We mostly took turns sleeping on the floor while the other person tried to stay awake and watch our bags. The plane over here was pretty big and awesome!! Had the full 3 seats to ourselves so that helped.... but a long long flight!! We got here and weren't able to check into the hotel until noon.... so we wandered around Hyde Park for 3+ ... read more

When we left England seven weeks ago we had 8 flights arranged round the world , Philip today goes and books another five internal ones round Australia making it 13 in total. We now have return flights to the Gold coast for The half marathon. and flights to Melbourne, Brisbane and back to Sydney to watch Everton. will we ever escape them! before leaving for Hollywood on July 20th and heading for home. The five internals cost less than 200 pound they are cheaper than the bus over here. After yesterday 13 mile run Philip is hard pressed to do anything more than laze in the sauna and spa whilst his legs recover. We try and lure Philip's Brother Andrew over with offers of marathons runs in Brisbane and watching Everton but unfortunaly it clashes with ... read more

The morning commute to Sydney on the bus is like any other in the world no one speaks on the bus no makes eye contact as the Harbor and the bridge come in to sight we want to jump up and down and shout look look. its one of the most awe inspiring sights in the world the rest of the bus don't look up from their papers and IPODs. We go swimming at The Ian Thorpe aquatic park first, for $16 but the lady lets us have use of the gym the pools and all the classes for ten day trial for $10! Bargain she is very nice and I fear after smiling at Philip he may turn up with ring and propose to her tomorrow! We then set off to walk round Sydney and ... read more
