We awake at six am in a rainy Sydney, and immediatly pass out in the Hotel bed, we are awoken by the phone and a familar voice , Philip panics he has over slept for work on hearing former cardboard refugee Martin on the phone

Martin and his wife are on holiday and leave for Brisbane tomorrow ..great a full day listening to Everton and Cardboard stories . the weather is horrific as we shelter and in McDonalds awaiting our landlady for the next stage of our trip who is meeting us for lunch. she seems to have a great job and joins us for a two hour lunch while knocking back the wine.

Martin and Philip then brave the weather and set off for the Olympic village which is a magnificent place. we go to the swimming pool to dry off.

An excellent day is finished by a wonderful meal and drinks on darling harbour with Martin and Deana and a late night in a jazz bar.

It great to see a familiar face from back home..
