Hello everyone Well I can honestly say that when you go away on holiday you need to pay penance by returning with a cold/flu, both Ged and I have been coughing and sniffiling for a couple of weeks now and still no break, but hopefully with some warmer weather it will pass. Great to be home, still jet-lagged slightly, so much so after my first day back at work yesterday I got home and went straight to bed and didn't get up again until this morning!! Ged has started back to work today, hopefully he isn't doing the same tonight. Now that I've got a computer to use I will try over the next few days to start uploading some photos, probably in batches, so we will see how we go. Will try not to bore ... read more

Am I lost!

Hello to everyone. We are now back home safe and sound and this will be the final blog in our travel diary around UK and Santorini. Well we have had an absolute ball but of course are very happy to be back home and look forward to getting back into normal day to day life, even though going back to work will be hard to take!! The trip back all went well and seemed fairly quick with a quick stopover in Bangkok. Was great being able to go into the Qantas club in Bangkok and have a refreshing shower before finishing off the next leg. It was still a bit strange though leaving London late at night flying 10 hours and arriving in Bangkok where it was already 3.00 in the afternoon of the next day! ... read more

Second Stage It was Friday, I had booked the day off, and again I was up before my alarm. I dosed from 03.30am and eventually slid out of bed at 04.00, as I needed to be away, nice and early. I had promised Caroline that I would make her a cup of tea before I left, though she declined the offer. Today I was driving down to Bega, as the second stage of the truck was finished and was ready to collect. I also had last Friday off, and did the same thing, but the box was still in manufacture and wa nearing the powder coating stage, Peter Moore of Carragher Steel, invited me down to have a look at the box, before the final stage, as things could be adjusted, before the powder coating, just ... read more

Blog Day 1042 Hi All, I just had to tell you our news, this is probably the biggest news we have had to date, other than when we were originally been granted our Permanent Residency Visa. Yesterday, we went and had a meeting with the Department of Immigration, basically it was a “Dummy Run” on all our paper work for our Citizenship application, and it all went swimmingly well. Now, it is the final waiting game before we submit our documentation, I can submit mine on 12/11/2011 and Caroline can submit on 29/11/2011, Caroline’s is later because she went back to the UK for 2 ½ weeks last year. We were actually interviewed by the lady that organises the citizenship ceremonies and we have asked if we are able to have our Ceremony on Australia ... read more

Hi everyone Just a quick message to go with some photos. We are currently staying in York, arriving last night and have access to a laptop at the BB we are staying at. We had a great day looking around York and York Minster today, so much history and amazing sights. We are off on the road again tomorrow to Derbyshire staying 2 nights then to North Wales for another 2 nights. Today has been the first day for about a week with no rain and a little bit of sunshine so we made the most of that! Hope you like the photos, we wil keep the messages coming. Lots of love Ged and Michelle... read more

Hello to you all It's been a few days since the last blog as we didn't have any Internet at the Lake District so there is a bit to write in this message. First off with uploading photos I can only do that with a computer and not mu iPad so i will try to upload quite a few tomorrow using the computer in the. B&B we are staying at. We had a great night in Blackpool even though it was only for 1 night, what a blast from the past even though it is looking a bit old and tired, just meeting up with my friend Katherine and her partner Bryan topped it off, we went out at night along the sea front and had a lovely night. Next day a bit bleary eyed we ... read more

We've now made it to Blackpool, where I used to live 25 years ago, it now seems so small but I suppose I was younger/smaller then! It was fantastic meeting up with Katherine and Bryan and we had a walk down to the sea front last night and a wonderful dinner out, checking out the sights and the illuminations, certainly a blast from the past for me and good to show Ged where I used to live! Still trying to work out how to upload some photos and having some difficulties but will keep trying. Spoke to Mum and Dad on our night out last night while we were travelling along the prom on a tram, Dad used to work on the trams, but we were a bit disapointed that by the time we got on ... read more

Dumb and Dumber Well it is that time again and we are off to the land of smiles. This year we have our eldest son Tim and his best mate Matt in tow, A graduation present to themselves. It will be very interesting to say the least as Matt has never been any further than the Gold Coast Qld let alone overseas and away from home for more than a week by himself. Tim on the other hand is well travelled and this will be his 3rd time in Thailand but his 1st experience being legal and will see it in a very different light. This will be a nice change for us this time around as we have planned a two day dive trip to the Phi Phi Islands and Paul to get his deep ... read more

Hi everyone A couple of days have passed and we have now left London picking up our hire car and are on our way through the countryside on our journey. London was fantastic but so hectic it was good to get going when we did as we were both feeling exhausted! Our first stop is near Bath at a lovely B&B called Priory Cottage, just beautiful and we are being very well look after by the owners. On the way here we stopped at Stonehenge, just one of those places that you just have to see in your life even though at first look it's just some big stones on the side of the highway! It was worth seeing though. Our first night here we went to a country pub down in the village for dinner, ... read more
