21/04/07 Amarillo, TX We were heading toward Conway on the south frontage road in order to spy the Bug Ranch - a kind of homage to the Cadillac range, only with VW Beetles, when we spied a white SUV with about 6 or 8 aerials on it’s roof, parked on the shoulder. “Stop, stop” I shouted to Jen, “they might be storm chasers”. Sure enough, as we pulled up we saw the logos on the back and side of their car - “The Kansas Storm Chaser - www.kschaser.com” and “Storm Chaser”. We had seen a severe weather warning for Amarillo on the Weather Channel a couple of days back, but to our untrained eyes looking at the sky there were no obvious signs of bad weather so we had assumed that it had passed - little ... read more

Onward the next day, after two lovely sunny days the day I was to reach my destination it was cold windy and cloudy (the Rainmaker lurking again ) Finally got there and the weather not the best in the world overcast windy and really cold (In Nevada at night it got really cold ) I thought Arizona was a warm state all those movies you see of brilliant sunshine and spectacular scenery . What really attracted me was a trip by helicopter over and along the canyon .too good to miss so booked that and headed back to the local airport about 2klms down the road. I was booked on the 14-00 flight got there as the 13-00 flight left ten mins later told the 14-00 flight had been suspended till 15-00 because of the ... read more

April 2nd - 16th Puerto Vallarta - Just a Few More Days Hola! Time for an update again…. Hope everyone is good and well… So, continuing from where I left off, a couple more days in Puerto Vallarta turned into nearly two more weeks! We both fell for its charms big time… The place is so alive with Mariachi bands playing on the beach, fresh fish and shrimp on a stick served when you’re sunbathing, cocktails, more shrimp in the evening etc. etc… It is so clean and tidy and although major development of the bay has began further around the sea front the ‘Downtown’ (where we were staying) retains all of its small town Mexican appeal with cobbled streets and myriad of small shops, bars and restaurants. The ‘Malecon’ (or promenade to us English) stretches ... read more

Distance: The River Walk - 2 miles, Emerald Pools - 3 miles, The Watchman - 2.8 miles Rating: The River Walk - easy, Emerald Pools - moderate, The Watchman - moderate Our second day in Zion National Park saw a return to the cold and rainy conditions that had greeted us two days earlier. Due to the conditions, we decided to focus on several of the shorter, easier hikes rather than attempt another difficult one like Angel’s Landing, for instance. Not surprisingly, the crowds had thinned out significantly as a result of the weather, and we were part of handful of intrepid souls who decided to brave the rain. After all, we hadn’t traveled all this way just to sit in our hotel room. While we considered ourselves hardy for braving these conditions, there were certainly ... read more

i was talked into taking a cruise by my buddy, ernie. i know, i never thought that would happen either. but it did. in fact, i had a good time though i find it difficult to walk at the moment. no i did not have an accident, unless you count running into the buffet table (over and over and over, etc.)! i got my monies(sp) worth by eating more food than i considered possible ;a big thanks goes out to crazy cruizers patrick and tiffany for telling me that i can order as many starters, entrees and desserts as i like. it pays to make new friends. i had at least two main courses per meal and sometimes three. on night two, it amounted to nothing more than surf and turf; a lobster along with a ... read more

Hej! Mads her. .

CC OD is way too wordy! I have enjoyed my time at home and believe my gear will work for me now. I had time to do a yoga class that made my muscles hurt in places that the hiking missed. I got to visit with my friends and catch up on our adventures to this point. I have been able to do a bit of work on my yard and flower beds I thought would go neglected this summer. Then lastly I am pumped up to get back to the trail and resume walking . Keep us in your prayers, I feel them everyday. ... read more

666 was great! perfect view of the city from the penthouse old 60's building and a 'flatmate called rebecca!' very tempted untill... i walked into a condo at queens quay. with a floor to ceiling lake view from the lounge, cn tower view from the bedroom window, indoor/outdoor swimming pool, gym, 2 saunas, steam room, sundeck, private BBQ area, pool room with 2 full size tables and HUGE tv for movies that you can use when ever you want. party rooms that can be booked free of charge, yoga and pilates studio, basically just like a luxuary hotel with lobby downstairs and massive fish tank and a 'concierge'. there is no tv in the lounge so that no one can monopolise it and more importantly no one can watch sport! sharing with 2 others, adam and ... read more

- Right-On, Emil.
