Up, Up, and Away..... "Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon? Would you like to glide in my beautiful balloon? We could flow among the stars, together you and I" The 5th Dimension had it right! What a thrill to see, and better yet, ride in one of these beautiful balloons. Come and join us at our annual balloon rally. Every 3rd weekend in July, our town of Wellsville, NY, hosts a huge Balloon Rally. Thousands of people come from all around to watch the many, gorgeous balloons reach for the stars. There was even a balloonist from Orlando, Florida. When we are in our winter home at Tropical Palms, we see their balloon fly over our RV. It's so amazing to watch these billowy, enormous balloons glide serenely across the sky as if ... read more

???? Off we go into the wild, blue yonder ???. Remember, I told you in my last blog (Italian Fest & Louie's) that we had a mission when we decided to take a different way home from these fun places. ?? Over hill, Over dale - as we hit the dusty trail????. That was us as we twisted and turned our way through the back hills and winding roads to finally meet up with our good friend, Cheryl. Mission accomplished! She was on her farm (her second home).....5 generations of her family have lived on this very same farm. It's always so nice to be with Cheryl...we don't get together often and only on occasion, talk on the phone or email. But we always know where we can find each other. That's friendship. Friends forever. She ... read more

Well, now this is something. I've taken a jillion photos since my last blog and what have I done with them? Nothing! Absolutely nothing! Except to procrastinate that it is time to write another blog. I can hear you all applauding...right? I will probably have to write 2 blogs or you will be thinking you are reading a big novel like War and Peace. More applause? So, prepare yourselves. This is going to take awhile. Gather around everyone....get comfy and sit back while my blog does our talking for us. Yawn!! Moan!! Hey, I heard that! Back on July 9th, Cory and I went to a local parade in our town of Wellsville. It was the beginning celebration (one week before) for our big Hot Air Balloon Rally held every year. Thousands of people come from ... read more

Hope you all had a Happy 4th of July. We were thinking of each of you and hoped the day went off with a bang! Our day was quite laid back. First off, we looked for Fourth of July festivities on the wrong day. I was positive that the nearby town, Andover, was having big celebrations on both the 3rd & 4th. Wrong! We drove over to this celebration Mecca with excitement swirling around us on Sunday. This town probably has the biggest and the best of all July 4th festivities and fireworks. We drove around town (small) and saw only a couple food trailers set up in the school yard. Chicken barbecue was on the 4th....rats! Cory thought Hornell, NY might have something going on so our journey continued. Wrong, again. Nothing. Why don't they ... read more

Remember I mentioned to you the next excitement on our dance card was my going to the dentist (last Friday) and getting my annual mammogram done (today). They are always okay but I am truly glad when both events are over. Remember, a paper cut just about does me in. Owww! Appointments done! I made it! I survived! Whew! Thanks for your support. It was helpful and needed. My dentist, Dr. Simons, lives and has his office in Cuba, N.Y. That's where we go to the annual garlic festival. Good & smelly. Something yet to look forward to in the fall. Mark it on your calendar. My Wellsville dentist died years ago. He was such a good man and good dentist. It took me awhile to find another dentist who I liked and trusted. Along came ... read more

Now that we know you like chicken barbecues, we've made sure we have found the best ones to take you to. Our first day of fun was at the annual Hess Tire Customer Appreciation Day. We are still in awe at the free party they put on for all their customers. It is huge and so generous. We bought our RV tires from them and have done other business there. They are an outstanding company to use and they offer excellent customer satisfaction. They are located way up on a super, high hill outside of Andover, NY. It's quite a challenge for Cory to get our RV over the many twisting, turning, hill-challenging back roads but he manages. He just had the RV there for its NY inspection.....some states don't even have vehicle inspection....ex: Ohio.....so Sam ... read more

Yoo-hoo......time to chat again about our local critters and then attend another festival. Hope you're not busy. Sit awhile......my first story is really a continuation of the previous one. Minding our own business, Cory and I were just strolling around our yard. We have various out buildings on our property. Cory has added many sheds and lean-to's onto our old, wooden barn. He's been quite a busy carpenter guy over these years. He built on the front of the barn a big, double lean-to that we have used to hold some of our cars, especially during the winter. Right now he has his 2 lawn mower tractors in it. The next enclosed shed used to hold one of the tractors but now it is full of bird seed and our garbage cans. The next little lean-to ... read more

.....and was I ever last week. Sitting on our couch, sorting my many pills (as I tell our kids: just trying to stay alive), I was startled hearing "Hello, Mom." I looked up and couldn't believe my eyes! I was so surprised 'cause there stood our son, Cory. There he was, in the flesh, in our living room. I couldn't move or speak. Paralyzed with shocking happiness. Oh, joyous day! He had flown up to attend his best friend's 25th anniversary party. On the in-between, he visited with us. It was so great because we don't get to see him that often now that he lives in Conover, North Carolina. Lulu was so excited to see him. She tried doing her happy dance but that gets complicated (no legs). Not wanting him to be bored just ... read more

Bet you are in awe that we are back so quickly. It's all in the timing. Memorial Day weekend gave us two events to celebrate. Of course, we hung our flags at our house to honor all the military men who have served our country to keep us safe and free. Cory went to our neighboring town, Whitesville, to buy us our usual Memorial Day chicken bar-b-que's. Remember Crazy Jack's is located in Whitesville as was the Cow Palace. Just checking to see if you are keeping up with all these blogs. We would miss you if you didn't. Cory and I feverishly devoured our bar-b-ques at our small table on our front porch. The weather was warm and wonderful today.....perfect for outdoor dining. Wish we had been able to buy all of you the chicken....it ... read more

I knew you couldn't resist getting in on this band wagon. We're off again for more excitement in our neck of the woods. The tune being played is: Happy Days Are Here Again". You just have to think it's fun to make it fun, you know. Hop aboard...your seat is always saved just for you. Last week took us to two cemeteries. Time to "do the graves" for Memorial Day. Now, this is our first fun experience. Geeze. Years ago, I would accompany my grandmother, mother and 2 aunts to "do the graves". Now I "do their graves". They used to dig the tops of each grave...back then, there were only 4 graves. They would dig the entire grave and plant live flowers all over it. Now, that was a job! But many hands made it ... read more
