Time to ride the fun wagon again. Climb aboard....you won't want to miss this experience. Our neighbor friend, Mary Kay Linza, joined us on this excursion. Forget Disneyworld, Soleman's Castle, Webster Flea Market, Universal Studios, Eye of Orlando....all the many places we had fun at in Florida. We are now in Allegany County, New York. This is how we have fun in our neck of the woods. Lulu chose not to go - she's still resting. That's okay. She needs to build up her stamina again. Today's festivities would just wear her out. Are you ready? Okay....you will be in awe with all that we are going to do and see. Excited? You should be. I bet you won't have this much fun where you live. Here we go. First, we head to a neighboring town ... read more

YoooHoooo - We are back! It's been a month since I wrote to you last. That is when we made it back to our homestead in Shongo from warm & comfy Florida. We have missed all of you. Let's talk about the weather first. Always a good intro. In this last month, it's been rainy, cloudy, sunny, cool, warm...a regular conglomerate of typical spring time weather in the North. Well, it topped itself yesterday. It was COLD - 38 degrees- windy plus it snowed! Not typical for late May! Florida....where are you? You are too far away with your hot temperatures- and no snow. Rats! And where were we? We were out in this miserable weather! But, for a good reason. Our grandson, Ryan Knapp, graduated from Alfred State college. We are very proud of him. ... read more

First things first: Happy Birthday to our wonderful grandson, Ryan Knapp. We love you! Oh my....gather around dear family and friends. Our journey together is coming to an end. What a ride we've had. We traveled here and there and yonder over these past four months. Seen things familiar and not. Done things that hadn't been planned. And the whole time, we've have had you to share it with. It was a great time for us and we only hope you had some fun along the way, also. Granted, you probably got bored at times with my seemingly unending drone of detail ..... Yes, I heard the moaning, groaning and yawning....but that's okay. Too bad there isn't a fast forward button on this blog. Suck it up and go with the flow. We've repeated that a ... read more

??Making a list, checking it twice-gonna find out if the roads have ice??- Nope, we are good to go. Whew! The temperature reads 51 degrees but it is raining. So much better than snowing ...then we would just be sitting in Shongo. ??Sitting in Shongo ...looking at trees...waiting to leave???....that could be another song but I digress. Cory isn't thrilled to drive in the rain but he will for this important adventure. No rain checks here. The RV motor has been running, the furnaces have, too....just to take the chill off. Warmer outside than in the RV. Out of habit, we are bundled up to the hilt. I have a long sleeve shirt on, a sweatshirt and my winter coat plus two pair of socks. The plug-in warming blankets are ready for use. Lulu just laughs.....not ... read more

Hoping the gremlins and ghouls pass you by so you can have a Happy Halloween. HOWL and have fun. Because we live out in the country, we don't get many trick or treaters. Last year we had ONE so here's hoping we break our record. The few kids that do live in Shongo go into Wellsville where all the many homes and many treats are more readily available. Lulu is staying here in Shongo. Did you guess who she is going as?.....Hint:POTUSFL. Answer: Michelle Obama. Everything is going along at a routine pace for us. My last blogs were about our Ohio trip with Sam & Sandy. It was a great time. Hope you got to read them. My cousin-in-law, Clare, stopped by for a short visit. She flew their airplane from Abbotsford, Bristish Columbia to ... read more

We have missed our regular chats with all of you. Lulu is jumping (best she can) with joy. We hope your summer has been warm and wonderful. We don’t want this luscious season to end. However, we have already spotted some leaf color changes on our local trees….Noooooo. We all know what that means. Some of it good; some of not so good (bad). It does bring forth the vibrant and breath-taking colors of autumn: good. But we know the color that soon follows behind: WHITE. Snow: WHITE. And not the fantasy gal waiting for a big, fat kiss from her prince (That could be me, though…where are you, Prince Charming Cory?). Sometimes, a white snow fall can be beautiful…but if you have to get out in it…not so good (bad). But then, as in our ... read more

No cooking? I'll go anywhere, anytime. Fortunately, our daughter, Lory, invited us down for chicken bar-b-que last Sunday. Wish you could have had some. Jay was helping cook the chicken for a local church's fund raiser. It was a delicious bar-b-que. It came with beans, potato salad, roll and a brownie. And it was even extra nice because all the Knapps were there....except for Jay who was still cooking. He said they cooked @ 365 chickens. We have this on-going discussion with Sam & Sandy: do you like barbecue? After our last cruise, Sam repeatedly inquired about this as we headed home from a wonderful, sea-faring trip. He had a favorite restaurant (Woody's) in mind and really wanted to go there. But being the polite gentleman he is, he kind of works his ways mysteriously and ... read more

Nooooo - not another birthday. At my age, they need to stop. But the alternative choice for them to stop is not of any interest. So we'll just celebrate Cinco de Mayo..... and my birthday will just be a part of it. Thank you to everyone who sent me "Happy Birthday" wishes. It made me happy knowing you all were thinking of me. Responding to some questions as to how I was spending my special day, I thought my birthday activities would make for some blog material. Cory devoted himself to making sure I did anything I wanted....just making me happy. He succeeded. Just being with him makes me happy so he didn't have to try too hard. I started my day by visiting my neighbor friend, Mary Kay. She lives across the road. She used ... read more

Ahhhh - GOOD MORNING, AMERICA! Hello, Everyone. It's a new day and hopefully our last traveling one for this excursion. What a ride it's been. So glad you decided to go along with us...your company has been just delightful. Everything seems good.....but I did say similar yesterday. But today is different...I just can feel it (oh, foolish me). Homeward bound we are: "This is where you get your strength, the red earth of Tara." ....or "The Brown Sticks of Shongo" (my quote). "TARA, Home! We'll Go Home!"(Gone With The Wind quotes) Right now we are passing through the Gettysburg Battlefield area. We feel like we have been in battle. But that's behind us and this now. No buzzers; no alarms; no warning lights and read outs! La-la-la-la......happy days......PLEASE, GOD! Keep us safe & moving. What a ... read more

Welcome aboard, dear family and friends. Here we are: together again (Yippee) as we begin our journey into 2015. A very Happy New Year to each one of you. So glad you have joined us and hope you stay throughout this 4 month adventure. "The more the merrier" and you truly make it merry knowing you are right along with us during our expedition...good or bad but always able to turn lemons into lemonade. AND guess who is dancing (best she can) with joy that you are back with us.....LULU, of course. I saw happy tears in her staring eyes as we readied ourselves for the launch this morning. Just in case you are new to our travel blog, here's a quick overview. After sweet Chip, our loving dog, died - Cory bought me an IPad ... read more
