I suppose it is a bold claim to state that the Peruvian food that I have indulged upon at two separate restaurants was perfect having never been to Peru myself, but I can claim that i found the food to be absolutely stupendous. I had always wanted to go to Peru, it is on the top of my list and I very nearly made it there back in uni but when that trip fell apart the farthest I ever made it down south was Costa Rica. This is by no means a complaint, Costa Rica is AMAZING as is its food. Now the question is, is Costa Rican food anything like Peruvian? The thing is, when I was in Costa Rica I was just a budding foodie, I had thrown away my vegetarian ways on a ... read more

Okay I know the title is a rip off of a Bravo T.V. show but hey mimicry is a form of flattery right? Now where as the show traveled from country to country I don't quite have that luxury so instead I'm sticking around here in New Jersey (or the east coast, or America, or the world who knows?) and finding all the whole in the wall restaurants to feed my belly. The show had it easy, I mean when your in a country all the food is authentic but try and find a true AUTHENTIC restaurant ain't a walk in the park. I mean in Bangkok the authentic Mexican restaurant I use to hit up included nachos with cheese sauce, so much for authentic. With recommendations from others, the help of google and sheer determination ... read more

Now I just so happen to work at a pretty kick ass job. Grant it it provides no benefits, an unreliable schedule and not the greatest of pay but does any of that matter when you love it? I think not. This summer I've worked quite a bit with different camp groups and this has provided me with the opportunity to check out a bit of Jersey I've never seen before. Not only that I am now a very skilled archer... as long as the target is no more than 20 feet away. Can we begin with the good old Manasquan Reservoir. The Reservoir is fabulous, sure I might be a bit bias but serious where else can you hop on a pontoon boat and check out local wildlife like BALD EAGLES?!? Yes I know your ... read more

On our first ever visit to Cape May we’re wondering why we never came to this New Jersey beach community with a Victorian flair before! The southern tip of New Jersey is less than 6 hours from our Saratoga County, NY home even considering that RVs with a Jeep in tow can slow one down. We like to find new routes for our road trips to Florida and this three night stop was ideal. Cape May’s many highlights include sweet Victorian architecture, dripping gingerbread from porches, eaves, rooflines, and cupolas from the tiniest cottage to huge historic hotels; a hundred gas street lights for delightful strolling in the evening; miles and miles of sandy beaches; and, even for the non-shopper, quaint boutiques and galleries. Day #1 We set up camp at Seashore Campsites, 720 Seashore Road. ... read more

Tuesday August 27,2013 (Ipswich-United Kingdom Morning/ Princeton,NJ U.S.A. Evening) I awoke in the YURT for my last night at Poplar Farm House...and it was quite an adventure. A YURT is a white out door tent that one can assemble and take down easily. A nice place to lay one's head but here is the tragedy part..............no internet and so you have to read via your flashlight. Think of it of being outdoors but yet have the comfort of home close by. Don't worry about the voices of the wild animals you might or not hear in the darkness. Maybe one will just knock on the door and ask "may I have a cup of sugar?". It was fun! Sally and I left for Heathrow Airport around 10:20 am and then stopped by a friend's house in ... read more

I've been back in America for two and a half months now and what better time to return to America than summer time! It has been a great summer, filled with fun events, fabulous weather and a journey around the world right here in Ocean/Monmouth County. The sad fact is traveling has had to be put on hold for the moment and working, really working, has taken over. This isn't to shabby, I stay busy and have a fun job, but I can't deny the pull to go out on yet another adventure. So to rectify this problem I have joined forces with my mom, brother and friend to travel the world via food! Has it become obvious how much I love food as of the last couple of entries? Well I really do love food ... read more

Monday August 5,2013 Princeton New Jersey I left Princeton NJ around 3:35 pm and headed off to Newark International Airport via NJ Transit train. The journey took me about an hour and fifteen minutes...........and I arrived at the airport before 6pm. The whole process of checking in took me about 20 minutes because I had checked in online the night before. For the next hour and half......I ate something and just chilled before heading to gate#55. At around 7:30...went through security and showed my boarding pass. I arrived at the waiting area around 7:50 and just sat.....charging my I-Phone. We were suppose to board around 8:30 but was delayed and we didn't board until an hour later. Then we got on board the airbus and I walked upstairs and sat in a window seat. We were ... read more

Geo: 40.5268, -74.3935Not a great travel day today...rainy, overcast, and high winds. Drove down Rt 1A along the coast of Rhode Island. There is definitely some money in RI. Incredible houses along the coast. We left there on our way to New Haven, CT to see the Yale Campus.....not impressed. It was drizzling and overcast, which didn't help, but the area was not that attractive, and no place to park an RV. So, we left to see what else we could find in CT. Most of the historic areas were blocked by low clearance overpasses; challenging when driving an RV. Finally, we just decided to get out of CT.Then, we hit I-95 going through New York City....50 minutes to go 4 miles over the Triboro Bridge. Long day of driving.....or sitting. But, this was really the first ... read more

Today was going to be my first time flying without having someone I know with me and, being that I'm a nervous flyer, I choose a 7hr 30min flight, great! Anyway it all worked out ok in the end as this lovely Scottish lady was sitting next to me on the flight and she too didnt like flyng and so it helped with take off as I had someone to talk to and it distracted me. I was also spolit for film choice and watched Taken 2, Oz: The Great and Powerful and the Hobbit. I needed to get a taxi to my friends apartment after arriving safely at Newark Liberty International Aiport, New Jersey. I was greeted by a guy that I thought was a taxi driver and he took me to a pick up ... read more
