Wednesday August 6 and Thursday August 7,2014 My goal before traveling to England this summer was to clean and organize my apt in New Jersey. I have included a few pictures of my apt and others to begin my new summer adventure. Five minutes before 3:00 pm,a taxi arrived and I said my "goodbyes" to my beloved Calico cat: Sophie and got into the taxi with my luggage towards Princeton Junction Train Station. I bumped into a parent from the CP community and we rode the train to the Airport stop and caught up with each other news and she took a picture of the both of us as well. I arrived early at Newark Airport around 4:45 pm and I dropped my one piece of checked luggage at Virgin Atlantic Desk and confirmed the boarding ... read more

The days before our flight were the longest nerve racking, exciting days of my life. I was about to embark on a journey only few people take, I was about to step way out of my comfort zone. Of course me being a male I waited till the day before my flight left to pack, but surprisingly I didn't forget anything important! Finally the day came February 21st. The parents and I got up early to head to Newark, New Jersey where I would begin the first leg of my journey into the unknown. Now I don't know if you ever been to Newark or New Jersey in general, but it’s an interesting place in itself. To sum up the drive and time spent in Newark I'll tell you a short experience I won’t forget... We ... read more

Well after all that stress and packing I am off! On the way up I kept thinking about one of the most popular questions i have been asked. WHY? Why now at 31 am I choosing to do this? The easy answer is why not? But there is of course a better answer. First of all throughout my twenties I thought about how lucky I was to have studied abroad in college. Sure it was alot of fun but I don't think I got as much out of it as i should have. It was more about new drinks like snakebites and studying as the nerd I was. Now I have had some time out in the world and think I could gain very much from this experience, People lately have called me brave. I don't ... read more

Thanks to my awesome husband, I am all packed for China! It was tricky only having 40 pounds to work with, especially since I am a compulsive over-packer and I had to fit over 10 pounds worth of gifts from Lawrence schools in my suitcase as well. Luckily my husband is an amazing packer, and got everything to fit and the waiting begins! Our flight leaves Wednesday around noon, so only a few days to go.... read more

It is 3 weeks before we leave for China! Tsun Ju Lin, Lawrence High School's Chinese teacher, and myself are going to China for the 2013 Chinese Bridge Delegation for 8 days, and it is time to prepare. We are currently planning what gifts we would like to bring, and many generous teachers and staff members from throughout the district are providing us with many exciting Lawrence items. We are also figuring out what electronic devices we are bringing so we can keep up with our blog and possibly even connect with the high school while we are away.... read more

Whoa. I'm leaving tomorrow to head west. By myself. For 5 weeks. I'm so physically and emotionally exhausted right now from packing, organizing my car, and figuring out where I'm sleeping and what I'll be doing the first few days that it seems surreal that it's actually upon me. Yet at the same time I'm as giddy as can be about the excitement awaiting me. But how'd I get here? It's a question I ask myself often. Most people I've told about this trip think it's the chance of a lifetime but at the same time there are quite a few who think I'm absolutely insane. This is my attempt to try and give you some insight into what brought me here and why I'm doing this. Rewind 10 months. January, 2012. I had a good, ... read more

The Manasquan Reservoir has been my home away from home as long as I've been in Jersey. I mean I've been working there for far to long/not long enough! Every year there is a race held in the beginning of fall and every year I am grateful that I'm not working that day due to the large crowds. This year is different though, this year I am a runner! The idea of running five miles in the past would have been dreadful, a cruel form of torture, but this year all I can think about is that the weekend is long run time so should I do two laps? Despite working there and being a runner I never actually run at the reservoir, I've done it perhaps twice and what I do know is that one ... read more

Who doesn't love Mexican food? I mean honestly can anyone sit down at a Mexican restaurant and just stare at the tortilla chips they place in front of you with salsa of various quality. It really doesn't matter the quality because we all can't seem to pry ourselves away from the delicious goodness. If the tortilla chips aren't grand enough, extensive menus filled with tortillas, enchiladas, burritos, and mountainous piles of nachos there is something delicious and new to try at each and every restaurant. While in Thailand, my all time favorite restaurant/ girls night always found my friends at Coyotes in Bangkok for the two hours of ladies night. Do you know what ladies night entails at Coyotes? Well it brings with it us ordering up nachos and getting TWO hours worth of free margaritas. ... read more
