We had originally planned a day in nearby Laughlin for today, but Theresa is not feeling too well, so we have decided to spend our last day in Vegas After a breakfast of coffee and muffins, we went to the Linq hotel and had a ride on the high roller. This is like a giant ferris wheel. It was great to get a different view of Las Vegas. After that, we made a return visit to the conservatory at the Bellagio hotel. We have heard that they are changing from their autumn theme into their Christmas theme. Unfortunately, they were still installing it all when we got there, so we will have to rely on the pictures they had to see what it will look like. It was interesting though to see how it is all ... read more

We had several things to tick off the list today. First up was Madame Tussauds. We would not normally do this in America as we find there are too many people we do not know. But we have two free tickets from MyVegas so thought it would be a good experience. Some of the models looked like they had been there many years as the actual person looks a lot older now. It took us about an hour to walk around and it was very interesting. Next stop was O´Sheas casino within the Linq Hotel. Theresa had heard a lot about their frozen Baileys and wanted to try one. The waitress asked if we wanted a small or large one. Theresa had heard about one being for $3 and the other being for $10 so decided ... read more

Today, we made our third and final visit to Fremont Street. We have a couple of vouchers for $10 slot play from the Las Vegas Advisor that we had not used so redeemed them and filled half an hour. We have tickets today for the zipline. We had originally bought the sit down tickets, but once we got there decided that we would prefer the lying down one – like superman - instead. Luckily they were happy to exchange our tickets for us. Tonight, we have tickets to see Penn and Teller at the Rio. As the hotel is a little off the strip we have decided to head there for dinner too. The buffet at the Rio was much like the one at the Cosmopolitan and had many of the same foods with a few ... read more

Today we have tickets for George to do the Stratosphere Sky Jump from the Stratosphere tower at the northern end of the strip. Last time we were in Vegas, they had not long opened this, but he was not brave enough to do it then. The set up for the jump is very professional and you feel like you are in very good hands. The price we paid also included two videos of the jump. One from a wrist camera attached to his wrist and the other from a static camera that is attached to one of the support cables. Some great memories made here today. We had planned to stop off at Peppermill Restaurant for lunch as we had heard some very good reviews of it, but they said there was a 30 minute wait ... read more

We got up this morning to a message from AT&T, the company we had purchased the mobile data from, to say we had used all our data. This was a bit strange as we thought we had purchased an unlimited package. We were very strict on this when the purchase was made. After several attempts, we found someone who would talk to us. All they could offer that we would have to pay more money to upgrade to the unlimited we thought we had already purchased. They were not offering any type of discount for the inconvenience of this so we said no thanks rather firmly. We shall use the Hotel Wi-Fi from now on and complain bitterly to them upon return to Tenerife. As of 27/2/2019, there has been no reply from AT&T. After a ... read more

Today is Black Friday here so there are sales in most shops and lots and lots of people. We have BOGOF voucher from MyVegas for breakfast at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. This is somewhere we have never been before but breakfast was truly outstanding. This was the first fried breakfast we have had this holiday. Not greasy at all though. Today we have a ticket to use the Big Bus. We got the tram to the Excalibur and then took a while to find where the bus pick up was. They are never at the front of the properties so it is not always obvious where they will stop. The first stop was the South Las Vegas Sign. Although we have been to Vegas quite a few times, we have never been this ... read more

Today is Thanksgiving Day here. We had intended doing a little more shopping today, but have been in contact with the airline flying us to London and their price for an extra bag is far too high. Instead, we will do the shopping in UK where an extra 25 kilo bags will only be just over £10.00. After completing the unpacking, we went for a walk along the strip. A lot has changed since we were last here We have been in the M&M store before but made a quick return visit, and also went to the Hershey’s store that was not here last time. We then went in and out of various hotels taking in all the recent changes. We had hoped to have a late lunch at Hell's Kitchen, making use of their Happy ... read more

After just a short journey to Fort Lauderdale airport, we arrive at about 8.00am in the morning. We both thought our flight to Las Vegas was at 11.10, but when we looked at the board it was actually at 11.50. We now have an extra hour to kill in the airport which for us is no big deal. Our Southwest Airlines flight was on time and we managed to get into the first boarding group for a small fee had got a good window seat. We saw some great scenery, as you can see land nearly all the way. After about an hour, we were served with coffee and snacks then further coffee about an hour before we landed. These were complimentary. Upon arrival at Las Vegas airport, we proceeded to our hotel. We are staying ... read more

Started our day in Paris, then went to Venice, New York and back to Venice for dinner and a show, then back to Paris! Breakfast in a Paris cafe this morning, then we braved the heat to see some more of the strip. Bruce (bus driver from the Rockies) had told us about the Deuce Bus, a double decker, air conditioned, bus service that runs up and down the strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) 24/7, only $8 for a 24 hour pass, so bought our passes and got on a north bound bus, right in front of our hotel. Only rode two stops, but was a lot further than it looked on the map, so pleased we didn't walk. Got off at The Venetian. Another wow! The outside has canals, complete with gondolas and many other famous ... read more

Did not wake up to blue sky and sunshine this morning because we were up before the sun! (But it was blue sky and sunshine later!) Apparently if you have a flight out of Toronto Pearson International Airport before 10am, you need to be there 3 hours beforehand. Our flight was 8am (it changed from 10am) so needed to be there at 5am. Decided to live dangerously and get the 5am shuttle from the hotel which would get us to the airport at 5.10am. Took us a whole 25 minutes to check in and go through security, immigration and customs. So glad we set that alarm for 4.15am! A 4 1/2 hour flight to Las Vegas, and a 3 hour time difference meant we landed in Las Vegas about 9.30am (Vegas time). They have poker machines ... read more
