So I got the call Monday confriming that I had a job in Incheon, South Korea! Every since then it's been a whirlwind of activity getting all the paperwork filled out and sent out. The first day I called Mom about 10 times giving her updates on what was going on, things I need to get, and is this really happening. This past week I've been getting my apartment packed up, meeting up with friends, and closing things down here in Colorado and getting prepared for my year abroad. It'll be weird living in a foreign country but I'm looking forward to learning about their culture and traveling in that part of the world! Wish me luck!... read more

Bad start with phone alarms going off at 6am (NYC time and forgot to change timezone !!) I did the breaky run as everyone was really feeling tired after all the action so far (was it 4 of 5 trips I had to make downstairs?) Cereal, Bananas, Muffins, OJ & AJ, Hot Chocolate, Toast & Marmalade, Milk, Yoghurts. Being 4th July we had sourced an outlet shopping sale at Castle Rock about 40km south of Denver on the way to Colorado Springs. The road we travelled on was the Interstate # 25 and the weather today was a lot clearer and we could actually just see the Rocky Mountains although there was little snow on the peaks after the heat wave conditions the USA has had for the last 2 weeks. We arrived in Castle Rock ... read more

Alarms go off at 5.45am and I am up and ready to have a quick bowl of cereal, shower then get the gang ready to depart downstairs as we had our scheduled airport transfer booked for 6.30am. He was right on time and we had a big black SUV with lots of space for the 30 minute drive to La Guardia Airport in Queens. No problems checking in our luggage and after quick snack of bacon & egg on a pita bread wrap (I think they called it a Panini) we were soon on our way. Very slow taxiing down the runway as a big queue of planes but we were in the air about 5 minutes after the scheduled 8.45am flight. We had good seats on the plane with extra leg room (about six inches ... read more

Section 2- South Platte to Bailey. After alot more training and trips to REI to try different socks out, I think I have finally found a good combo. I am wearing toe socks! They felt very weird but do the trick. We set out to do 25 miles in three days. We decided to hike 6.6 miles the first day and planned about 6 ish for the next few days. I was feeling strong! The weather was nice but a rain storm was lurking. Stephen found us a place to camp for the night just as the rain was starting to come down. It was the first time we had camped in a rain storm with our new tent! As we laid there listening to the rain come down faster and faster I began to worry. ... read more

Geo: 39.74, -104.9925/28/12 – We woke up this morning to clear sunny skies and 34 degrees. A beautiful day. And I am thinking, this has to be the last cold day of this trip. Tomorrow we are going to be down from the mountains. I must add, however, that 34 degrees in Colorado is not nearly as cold as 50 degrees in Florida. Seems like what they say about dry heat not being as hot as humid heat is also true about the cold. A dry cold is not nearly as cold as a humid cold, which cuts right through you to the bone. The only time we were really chilled is when the wind was blowing. But we muscled through with only genes and light sweatshirts. So we begin the day watching a colorful air ... read more

We arrive in Denver early at around 07:00 after having an early 06:00 breakfast. We all alite the train feeling a little sleepy. A coach is there to meet us, and takes us on a quick tour of Denver before checking into the Warwick Hotel. We arrive at the hotel at arond 09:30, and have to wait around a little while for the rooms to be made ready. The hotel provides lemonade and cookies while we wait. We dont have too many things planned for the day in Denver so we plan a relaxing day. We have a wander around Denver. It is on a smaller scale to the other American cities that we have visited. It is well laid out and "sightseer friendly" as regards being able to walk around as opposed to using Metro, ... read more

The day we have been waiting for has finally arrived, and everyone made it on time to DIA. All are through security and we are waiting at the gate. Lots of photos have been snapped and the first game of "spoons" has ensued! The Bon Voyage Concert last night was a huge success. They sounded wonderful, performing 16 a capella pieces with much poise and finess. The highlight of the concert quite possibly may have been Anthony"s public marriage proposal to his girlfriend with his rendition of "Marry Me" while accompanied by the "Prima Voce back up choir." (and she DID say YES!!) Next stop: Frankfort... read more
